NXT Deadline: Results, News, and Analysis

NXT Deadline Results

NXT Deadline takes place tonight live on Peacock. We have the introduction of a new match concept with two Iron Survivor Matches taking place tonight. The winner of the respective matches will become the number one contender for the respective titles. We will also see the NXT Championship and Tag Team Championships defended. Stay tuned as this article will be updated throughout the night with the latest results and news from NXT Deadline.

The Iron Survivor match starts with two competitors. Every five minutes a new participant enters the match. Any fall (pin, submission, disqualification) earns a point. The competitor with the most falls at the end of 25 minutes wins. The wrestler on the losing end of a fall will have to spend 90 seconds in a penalty box. The winner of the Men’s Iron Survivor Match will become the number-one contender for the NXT Championship. The winner of the Women’s Iron Survivor Match will be the number one contender for the Women’s Iron Survivor Match.

NXT Deadline Results and News

Roxanne Perez Wins The Women’s Iron Survivor Match

The first-ever Iron Survivor match saw Roxanne Perez walk out victorious. She won with a final point tally of 2 falls. She is now the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship currently held by Mandy Rose. The final point total was Cora Jade 1, Indi Hartwell 1, Kiana James 0,  Roxanne Perez 2, and Zoey Stark 1.

The New Day Captures Tag Team Gold

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods came into NXT and were able to defeat the antics of Pretty Deadly. They walked out of NXT Deadline as the NXT Champions for the first time in their careers. They have won the Raw Tag Team Championships four times and the Smackdown Tag Team Championships seven times in their careers.

Grayson Waller Wins The Men’s Iron Survivor Match

The match came down to the final minute or so of action. Just before Grayson Waller scored the final fall, four competitors were tied at two falls each. Waller scored the fall with less than a minute on the clock and walked out the number one contender. The final count was Axiom 2, Carmelo Hayes, 2 Grayson Waller 3, JD McDonagh 0, and Joe Gacy 2.

NXT Deadline Results and News

Grayson Waller and Roxanne Perez have a shot at Bron Breakker and Mandy Rose respectively. Waller wasted little time as he jumped Breakker after Breakker defeated Apollo Crews in the main event. The first-ever Iron Survivor matches were exciting and had an interesting combination of scramble, elimination chamber, and king of the mountain matches. Both matches had solid action and were well-received by the live crowd. This could become a staple match for NXT similar to how Money in the Bank has become a signature match on the main roster of WWE.
