Preview: WWE SmackDown (11/4/22) – Rey Mysterio vs. Gunther

It’s Friday, November 4th 2022 and the final SmackDown before Crown Jewel will take place tonight (sort of, since this is a taped show from Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri). That means we can expect some finishing touches ahead of the premium live event taking place in Saudi Arabia tomorrow. As this is a taped show, we will have a spoilers article separate from this one, which will act as an ordinary preview. With that being said, let’s dive right in and see what’s in store!

Ricochet vs. LA Knight

With LA Knight now being done with Maximum Male Models (as well as the Max Dupri persona), he is returning to his roots and looking to reestablish the name “LA Knight” as one to be respected and feared. Yet, Ricochet, believes Knight is taking himself too seriously – something which offended Knight and has ultimately led to this match. Will Knight continue his path to redemption? Or will Ricochet disrupt the momentum? Tune in to find out.

No Disqualification Match: Liv Morgan vs. Sonya Deville

Since losing her SmackDown Women’s Championship to former UFC star Ronda Rousey a few weeks ago, Liv Morgan has become increasingly unhinged – having previously slammed Sonya Deville through a table before suplexing the former WWE official through a pile of chairs (ouch). With these two set to collide again tonight in the form of a no disqualification match, you can expect Morgan to put her body on the line and further establish herself as the unhinged superstar she is quickly becoming. Good luck, Sonya. You’re going to need it.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Rey Mysterio vs. Gunther (c)

Over the past few weeks, we have seen a Rey Mysterio resurgence. With his son, Dominik Mysterio, having turned on his father (and Edge) at Clash at the Castle before joining the Judgement Day stable, Rey was seen questioning his place on the roster – and, indeed, the business – in a backstage segment with Triple H. Just like he failed to prevent his son from turning to the dark side, he also failed to retire and found himself becoming the number one contender for Gunther‘s Intercontinental Championship. Tonight, Mysterio has a chance to turn back the clock and achieve an upset that only he – the ultimate underdog – is capable of. Can Gunther see off the unlikely threat of Rey Mysterio? Tune in to SmackDown on FOX to find out.

Not Announced But Expected for SmackDown

– With Roman Reigns and The Usos both set for big title defenses in Saudi Arabia this Saturday, one might expect Sami Zayn to be in their corner. However, the “honorary Uce” will not be in the country due to personal circumstances, so might we expect some storyline explanation tonight?
