On the July 7 edition of AEW Dynamite, “Jeanie” was on the line. Scorpio Sky defended his TNT Championship against Wardlow. Moreover, this was done in a Street Fight, allowing the competitors involved to fight with no restrictions in place. While Sky recently passed 70 days as TNT Champion in his second reign, Wardlow has remained dominant on AEW programming, recently besting “Smart” Mark Sterling’s Plaintiffs in a 20-on-1 “Class Action” handicap elimination bout. Furthermore, Wardlow was entering only his second TNT title bout, his first resulting in a loss to Sky this past March on the St. Patrick’s Day Slam edition of Dynamite. However, the second time proved to be the charm, as Wardlow captured the AEW TNT Championship, his first title in All Elite Wrestling.
How the heck did @RealWardlow kick out of that?! @ScorpioSky is in disbelief! Tune in to #AEWDynamite LIVE on @TBSNetwork right now! pic.twitter.com/3EQS4InNHv

Wardlow Captures AEW TNT Title
What to Know Following Title Change on AEW Dynamite
As mentioned earlier, the AEW TNT Championship is Wardlow’s first title in All Elite Wrestling. “Mr. Mayhem” debuted for the company in November of 2019, quickly aligning himself with MJF thereafter. From there, Wardlow served as the bodyguard of MJF, being contracted by the former as opposed to AEW President and CEO Tony Khan. Wardlow would also join The Pinnacle, led by MJF, finding new allies in Tully Blanchard, FTR, and Shawn Spears. However, Wardlow’s association with the group would slowly dissolve, ultimately resulting in a victory over MJF at this past May’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view event. Per the stipulation of said victory, Wardlow signed an official deal with AEW, his previous contract with MJF being rendered null and void.
