No rest for the wicked, as they say. After a memorable night filled with amazing matches and heart-stopping bouts back at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door, All Elite Wrestling keeps its foot on the gas pedal with a special Blood and Guts edition of AEW Dynamite. Last year’s iteration of Blood and Guts saw The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle battle it out inside the unforgiving steel structure. The night was capped off with one of the most horrendous sights fans have ever seen; MJF pushing Chris Jericho off the top of the cage. If last year’s event is anything to go by, expect nothing less but unadulterated violence and carnage.
On this week’s AEW Dynamite, the Jericho Appreciation Society and Blackpool Combat Club meet inside the cage to settle this bloody war once and for all. The bout will serve as the main event of Dynamite, with a lot more surely coming to delight the #AllElite loyalists. Without further ado, it’s Wednesday night, and you know what that means! Time AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts. Let’s run it down.

Settling the Score
The war between these factions just keeps on escalating further with each passing moment. This all started when Chris Jericho betrayed Santana and Ortiz, after seemingly aligning with their longtime friend Eddie Kingston. The “Mad King” also wasn’t spared, as he got a fireball thrown in his face for good measure. Unfortunately for Jericho and his band of misfits, Proud and Powerful and Kingston has friends in very dark places.
Enter: the Blackpool Combat Club. Compromised of now AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Wheeler Yuta, and their mentor, the legend William Regal. These men did not stand idly by and rushed to the aid of their cohorts, standing by Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz’s side in a “Anarchy in the Arena” match back at Double or Nothing. While the BCC and company did not succeed, they made a statement. Making it explicitly clear the war is far from over.
However, due to the extremely physical nature of past bouts, “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson had to bow out of the Blood and Guts match and Forbidden Door. Fortunately, Danielson did find a more than suitable replacement. Shocking everyone in the United Center in Chicago, Claudio Castagnoli made his AEW debut, defeating technical wizard Zack Sabre Jr. in a “match of the night” candidate.
He further cemented his status as the new member and possible “X-Factor” of the BCC when he rushed to the aid of Mox and company, during a beating from the JAS. With Jericho, Sammy Guevara, and Minoru Suzuki being triumphant last Sunday night, the JAS has the one-man advantage. Will this be the determining factor in a Jericho Appreciation Society win or will the Blackpool Combat Club overcome and end this battle on their terms? Don’t you dare miss the culmination of this war live on TBS!
