The Young Bucks Win AEW Tag Team Championships at Road Rager
The match was originally scheduled to be a three-way match that included The Hardy’s. Following the suspension of Jeff Hardy, the match was changed to a standard tag team ladder match. The match saw blood flow down the face of Nick Jackson and everyone in the match going through at least one table. Luchasaurus took the biggest table fall in the match, being pushed off a ladder through four tables set up on the arena floor.
The Young Bucks previously held the titles for 302 days from Full Gear in 2020 until All Out in 2021. They lost the titles in a steel cage match to The Lucha Brothers at All Out. They are the longest-reigning tag champs in AEW history.
Things got a bit worse for Jurassic Express following the match. Christian Cage who has been a mentor to the duo came to the ring after the match. It looked like Cage was there to help an injured Jungle Boy, only to attack the already hurting wrestler. Cage then grabbed two chairs and hit a signature conchairto on Jungle Boy to close out the show.
