Konami is returning to Stardom.
“The Fighting Princess” will make her grand return to professional wrestling in early May as part of Stardom’s Golden Week events. But not only will Konami be returning to the ring, but she will also be teaming with Syuri and the rest of God’s Eye as “the strongest bodyguard.” In Stardom’s card announcements for Golden Week, it revealed that God’s Eye had an X set to team with them against Donna del Mondo‘s Giulia, Himeka, Natsupoi, and Mai Sakurai in an elimination tag team match at their Fukuoka Goddess Festival show. Stardom fans now have the answer as to who will be filling that role. Konami made clear in her reveal there was only one way for her to return and it would be alongside Syuri.

The last time Konami was inside a wrestling ring, she competed against Giulia at Stardom Dream Queendom. It was her farewell match as she was headed on hiatus from wrestling due to health problems she had endured late last year, featuring a return to her Tokyo Cyber Squad days with the gear and everything. Konami notably left the door open for her return to wrestling.
There will be a number of factors at play here in Konami’s short-term return to Stardom. When she exited Stardom, she was a key member of Oedo Tai. Immediately after the announcement was made at Sunday’s show, Starlight Kid and Momo Watanabe both protested Konami’s return and allegiance to God’s Eye.
The final match of Konami’s five she is now announced for will be against Oedo Tai on Saturday, May 7. She will team with Syuri, MIRAI, and Ami Sourei to take on Momo Watanabe, Starlight Kid, Saki Kashima, and Ruaka. If she is only staying around for Golden Week as she says, it will be a special way for her to go out against her former unit.
Overall, Konami will get a chance to compete against every Stardom faction in her one-week return.
