Lacey Evans made her return on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown, the first “blue brand” show following WrestleMania 38. On this show, she appeared backstage, recalling her life growing up. She also touched on sensitive topics like the hardships her mother faced and the family moving from one shelter to the next. Evans said that while she didn’t have the same shot to stardom that others had, this made her different from the rest. She also touched on her life as a United States Marine and WWE Superstar. According to Michael Cole on commentary, her story will continue next week. Coming out of this week’s SmackDown, though, “Lacey Evans returns” became one of the biggest talking points, providing the show’s women’s scene with a unique wrinkle.

What to Know Following Surprise Return
This marks the first appearance of Lacey Evans on WWE programming in over a year. She was last seen in early 2021, taking part in a feud with Charlotte Flair. During this time, Evans was linked up with Ric Flair, having flirted with him for several weeks. Before the story could advance further, Evans announced her real-life pregnancy, which shifted the story. Additionally, before her pregnancy, Evans was scheduled to challenge Raw Women’s Champion Asuka at that year’s Elimination Chamber; it was even reported that she was to win the gold at said event.
