___ Interim ROH Championship

Mercedes Martinez has captured the Interim ROH Women’s World Championship. She defeated Willow Nightingale at Supercard of Honor to win the interim belt and will face Deonna Purrazzo to unify the belts at a later time.

Mercedes Martinez Wins Interim ROH Women’s World Championship

This match was added to Supercard of Honor when Deonna Purrazzo was unable to be at the show.  Martinez will square off with Purrazzo who is the current ROH World Women’s Champion down the road.

Purrrazzo captured the title from Rok-C who was the inaugural winner on an episode of IMPACT on AXS TV. She confronted Rok-c at Final Battle 2021 and claimed the title was made for her. She made good on that claim and became a double champion as she also holds the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion. Purrazzo has been holding open challenges for either of the titles. She now knows her next opponent for the ROH Women’s Title will be Mercedes Martinez.

Purrazzo and Martinez have locked up a few times over the past year with Purrazzo getting the win the last time they stepped in the ring with each other. Martinez also unsuccessfully challenged former Knockouts Champion Mickie James for the Knockouts Title this past November on IMPACT!
