What to Know Following Big Title Win at Crockett Cup Event

The NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion is just one of numerous accolades that Homicide has achieved during his nearly three-decade-long career. “The Notorious 187” captured singles and tag team gold in a number of organizations. On the independent level, he was Game Changer Wrestling World Champion, to name one example. In bigger companies including IMPACT Wrestling and Ring of Honor, he has been both a tag team and world champion at different periods. In IMPACT and ROH, he’s been aligned with The Latin American Exchange and VLNCE UNLTD, respectively.

Homicide is the first recognized NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion since late 2017; the previous champion was Barrett Brown, who current viewers of NJPW Strong will be familiar with. The title was originally established in May of 1945, being defended largely in the Iowa area before its reach expanded in the years that followed. Among the notable titleholders were Verne Gagne, Fred Blassie, Dory Funk, Hiro Matsuda, and Jushin Thunder Liger.
