Preview: Gatoh Move – ChocoPro #208 (3/12/22)

ChocoPro 208

ChocoPro #208 is a one-match card, but if previous shows of this nature are any indication, Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling will host a show not to miss. On this episode, the Super Asia Championship will be on the line, the defending champion putting up the gold for the first time since winning it. The champion has been on a roll, to say the least, but the challenger will be looking to end his opponent’s reign before it has a chance to bloom. Here’s what to expect before the show airs live on the official Gatoh Move YouTube channel.

Super Asia Championship: Baliyan Akki (c) vs. Ken Ohka

On this episode of ChocoPro, Baliyan Akki defends his newly won Super Asia Championship against Ken Ohka. This will be the only match of the show, meaning that it will get the full 60 minutes. Furthermore, it will take place under Falls Count Anywhere rules. Viewers should expect to see these competitors take the fight throughout Ichigaya Chocolate Square and outside of it. Longtime ChocoPro viewers are no strangers to seeing the ins and outs of this quirky venue, from the familiar brown mat to the nearby office. One would imagine that Akki and Ohka will take their match throughout various settings en route to victory.

The feud between Akki and Ohka developed rather recently. Akki needs no introduction to those familiar with Gatoh Move’s history, even prior to the advent of ChocoPro. Ohka will be familiar to Ganbare Pro Wrestling fans, serving as the promotion’s main representative. He’s often regarded as the heart of Ganbare Pro, having broken away from DDT Pro-Wrestling to bring this initiative to life. Recently, however, Ohka showed resentment that bordered on jealousy for the Super Asia Champion. This came to a head on ChocoPro #207, which saw Akki win the opening three-way match. Following this, Ohka stormed into Ichigaya and a brawl quickly ensued. Ohka laid out Akki with a devastating spear, his goal to capture the blue belt made explicitly clear.

ChocoPro #208 is an important show for Akki. Not only does he have the opportunity to successfully defend his Super Asia Championship but he could pick up a victory over a wrestling veteran in Ohka. Akki’s skill as a tag team titleholder can’t be denied, having held the Asia Dream Tag Team Championship alongside Mei Suruga for a staggering 422 days. On the other hand, the experience of Ohka speaks for itself. Furthermore, following the events of Episode #207, it can be argued he’s entering this match with a mental advantage. Who will leave Ichigaya with the Super Asia title in their possession?

ChocoPro #208 will air on March 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM JST (March 11, 2022 at 8:00 PM EST).
