IMPACT Wrestling No Surrender 2022 was a big night for Honor No More. They scored a big win in the five-on-five tag match that allowed them to stay in IMPACT Wrestling. The win was not without controversy. Eddie Edwards faked his own injury to get out of the tag match. He then made his way to the ring during the match and turned on Team IMPACT, allowing Honor No More to pick up the win and stay in IMPACT wrestling. What is next for Honor No More? Let’s look at some implications for both IMPACT Wrestling and Ring of Honor.
What is Next For Honor No More In IMPACT and ROH?
IMPACT Wrestling
Per the stipulations set by Scott D’Amore heading into No Surrender, Honor No More can now stay as long as they want in IMPACT. They also have a new member in their ranks in Eddie Edwards. Edwards was known as the heartbeat of IMPACT Wrestling. He has returned to his ROH roots where he was the first-ever Television Champion and turned against IMPACT. Now that Honor No More is sticking around, could others join the ranks?
Sleeper Agents
Other IMPACT Wrestling roster members have a history in Ring of Honor. Chris Sabin, Deonna Purrazzo, Moose, and others have spent time in a Ring of Honor ring. Although some are tied up with other businesses, could we have another sleeper agent? Deonna Purrazzo currently holds the ROH Women’s World Title. She is still sour that she was unable to regain the IMPACT Knockouts Title from Mickie James. Could we see her align with Honor No More to get a shot at Mickie?
Title Shots
With Honor No More sticking around for the foreseeable future will they try and pick up some IMPACT Titles? Matt Taven has held tag gold with ROH with both Vincent and Mike Bennett. If they are able to take the tag titles away from The Good Brothers it would give them more power in the grand scheme of things. PCO is also a powerhouse who could give Moose a run for his money in the IMPACT Title scene. Kenny King is also a former two-time X-Division Champion. Although Trey Miguel has his next challenger in Jake Something, Kenny King would love nothing more than to get another shot at a belt he has held twice. Although these may be a long shot, Honor No More has found a way to stick around the IMPACT Zone. It isn’t too hard to fathom that they could work their way into a title match.
Resistance
Not all of Ring of Honor is a fan of their actions. Ian Riccaboni, Jonathan Gresham, and Cary Silkin have all refused to align with the group. With Team IMPACT taking a massive blow in Eddie Edwards leaving, they will surely be searching for new members to combat the chaos brought in by Honor No More. Who better to recruit than Jonathan Gresham? The man who brought back the Pure Title in Ring of Honor. Will we see other members of the ROH roster take a stand against Honor No More? Time will tell, but maybe Gresham brings over some backup in the form of Josh Woods or Rhett Titus of The Foundation? There are many options for Team IMPACT that aren’t necessarily sitting in an IMPACT locker room.
Ring of Honor Wrestling
With Ring of Honor coming back at Supercard of Honor there is a good chance this feud spills into Ring of Honor. Could we see another big tag team match with high stakes at Supercard of Honor? If Team IMPACT can reassemble their forces they could take on Honor No More in their own house.
Civil War
As mentioned earlier not everyone in Ring of Honor is a fan of Honor No More. If IMPACT does head to Supercard of Honor could we see a civil war? Where will key ROH players such as Gresham, The Briscoes, Dalton Castle, Bandido and others fall into the war? Could we see Ring of Honor wrestlers cross over to the IMPACT side? Will more IMPACT wrestlers cross over to the Ring of Honor side? There are plenty of exciting options for how this could play out, with Honor No More at the center of it.
With Ring of Honor is not taping right now we don’t have much information as far as matches for Supercard. We know Gresham and Bandido will unify the ROH World Titles and The Briscoes will hold an open challenge. With well over a month until the show, there is plenty of time for the story to play out here.
The legacy of Ring of Honor has been playing out through other promotions. Honor No More is one of the most regular and consistent extensions of ROH currently, and their story seems to have just begun.
