Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #175 (11/20/21) – CDK vs. Koishikawa/Akki

ChocoPro 175

Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling kicks off this weekend with ChocoPro #175, which looks to be a promising show on paper. Among the action scheduled is the reunion of Calamari Drunken Kings, the team of Chris Brookes and Masahiro Takanashi, taking on two core ChocoPro stars aiming for a much-needed victory. Throw in an intriguing singles match to kick things off and the traditional janken tournament and it’s easy to see why viewers would tune in. Let’s run down the action set to take place later this week on the official Gatoh Move YouTube channel.

Sayaka Obihiro Antonio Honda

Sayaka Obihiro vs. Antonio Honda

Kicking off ChocoPro #175 is a singles match between two wrestling veterans with contrasting approaches. On one side of Ichigaya Chocolate Square will stand “The Blue Heart,” Sayaka Obihiro, who hasn’t seen a victory on the show since March 2020. For further context, her last win took place on Day 2 of ChocoPro #100, where she teamed with Emi Sakura to defeat Gatoh Move fourth-generation stars Rin Rin and Sayaka. One can argue that “Obi-san” wrestling on a part-time basis has resulted in a lack of success within Ichigaya. Though she will enter this show with the goal to win, her opponent won’t make matters easy for her.

Known affectionately as “The Honey Hunter,” expect shenanigans aplenty when Antonio Honda is in action. On the previous episode of ChocoPro, Honda teamed with fellow wrestling veteran Cherry in a winning effort against Chie Koishikawa and Masahiro Takanashi. In fact, of all his ChocoPro matches in 2021 thus far, he’s won 16 of his 25 matches, which is a solid record. Most, if not all, of these victories were assisted by his wily tactics, whether at the paws of Gon the Fox or via the utilization of the seemingly innocent art of music. Keep in mind that Obihiro and Honda haven’t competed in singles action against each other since Episode 8, all the way back in April 2020. Honda won this encounter; will history repeat itself on ChocoPro #175?

Calamari Drunken Kings (Chris Brookes and Masahiro Takanashi) vs. Chie Koishikawa and Baliyan Akki

For the first time since Episode #169, Chris Brookes returns to ChocoPro to team with Masahiro Takanashi, reuniting Calamari Drunken Kings. Brookes has had his hands full of late. Earlier this month, DDT Pro-Wrestling kicked off its D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 tournament, of which “The Calamari Catch King” is a competitor. Brookes made his way on the board early on, picking up a victory over the DDT stalwart himself, HARASHIMA. Much like the aforementioned Honda, Brookes is an incredibly formidable competitor in Ichigaya Chocolate Square, seldom coming up short in his matches. Couple this with his experience teaming with Takanashi and it’s easy to imagine ChocoPro #175 will be no different.

The team of Chie Koishikawa and Baliyan Akki presents an interesting case. Though Koishikawa’s “Too Much Energy” approach has made her a popular ChocoPro competitor, the truth is that her bell-to-bell success has left something to be desired. She has seen victories at times, especially in tag team contests, but it would be fair to call her an underdog. Baliyan Akki, who is one-half of the Asia Dream Tag Team Champions, has been down on his own luck as well. Not only did he lose his tag team match on Episode #173, but he fell short against Pro Wrestling HEAT-UP’s Daisuke Kanehira on the most recent episode. Can Koishikawa and Akki join forces and make ChocoPro #175 a win over CDK? Tune in to find out.

ChocoPro #175 will air on November 20 at 10:00 AM JST (November 19 at 8:00 PM EST).
