Preview: WWE Raw (10/25/21) – Season Premiere Episode

WWE Raw Season Premiere

On tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw, the WWE Draft officially goes into effect for the red brand. Last week, World Wrestling Entertainment held its Crown Jewel event, which marked the final show where the previous draft was in effect. Now, the Superstars that changed shows during this year’s draft will finally make their way to WWE Raw in what’s being promoted as a “season premiere” episode. Who will be the first of the new crop to make an impact? Will we see newcomers step up to challenge established champions? Here’s what to know ahead of tonight’s show, set to air on the USA Network at 8 PM EST.

WWE Raw Season Premiere Preview (10/25/21)

A Crown Jewel Rematch

Though tonight’s WWE Raw is a “season premiere” episode, there is still some unfinished business to be done. In a rematch from Crown Jewel, Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro will defend their titles against AJ Styles and Omos. These two teams have been at war with one another since the summer. At SummerSlam earlier this year, the unlikely duo of Randy Orton and Riddle captured the Raw tag team titles from Styles and Omos, which only intensified their feud. Crown Jewel was a major opportunity for the former champions, but unfortunately for them, Orton and Riddle emerged victorious.

Now, as WWE Raw heads into a new season, RK-Bro must defend the Raw Tag Team Championship against their rival team once more. Needless to say, a successful defense for Orton and Riddle is imperative here. Not only does it allow them to hold onto their titles, but it also gives other duos a chance to throw their hats into the proverbial ring. Regardless of the team that leaves tonight’s show with the gold, expect this encounter to be nothing short of competitive.

Current Champions Await New Challengers

While a Raw Tag Team Championship defense is set for tonight’s show, one mustn’t forget about the red brand’s lineup of current titleholders. In addition to RK-Bro as the Raw Tag Team Champions, Damian Priest is the United States Champion, Becky Lynch recently became the Raw Women’s Champion following a tense encounter with new SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair last week, and Big E rules the red roost as the WWE Champion. In fact, WWE recently posted a graphic on social media showcasing potential challengers for the titles in question.

There are many avenues that WWE can take in regard to its current titleholders. Perhaps the most interesting is Priest, who hasn’t been seen on TV in several weeks. Now that Crown Jewel is in the rearview, will “The Archer of Infamy” reemerge to seek out new prey? Big E, who is coming off a successful title defense against Drew McIntyre from Crown Jewel, will undoubtedly be ready for fresh meat as well. Throw in Lynch, who hasn’t been short on confidence since her return at SummerSlam, and it’s easy to see why viewers would be excited about the changing landscape of Raw.
