Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #166 (10/23/21) – Yuna Mizumori vs. Chie Koishikawa

ChocoPro 166

It’s another weekend and that means more ChocoPro action straight from the official Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling YouTube channel. The race toward the Super Asia Championship is continuing to heat up, as Yuna Mizumori, Chon Shiryu, Baliyan Akki, and Masahiro Takanashi have thrown their names into the proverbial ring. Simply put, everyone wants to become the top champion. Furthermore, ChocoPro’s energetic Chie Koishikawa has been more determined than ever to hold gold, which has led her closer and closer to the Asia Dream Tag Team Championship. Here’s what to expect on ChocoPro #166.

ChocoPro 166

Sawasdee Kamen and Baliyan Akki vs. Masahiro Takanashi and Hagane Shinnou

Opening ChocoPro #166 is a tag team match featuring 4 of the show’s male competitors. One-half of the Asia Dream Tag Team Champions, Baliyan Akki, will team with the Gatoh Move mascot of sorts, Sawasdee Kamen, to take on the makeshift team of Masahiro Takanashi and Hagane Shinnou. It’s fair to say that Akki has been on a roll as of late. In addition to being at the top of Gatoh Move’s tag team pecking order, he’s incredibly formidable as a singles competitor. This should make Kamen confident, especially as the masked fighter has been less than successful in his recent outings.

Of course, a victory on this show won’t come easy,  especially given the caliber of opponents they’re up against. The beer-loving Masahiro Takanashi is coming off a victory from the previous episode, where he bested IWA Japan legend Kappa Kozo. Takanashi’s overall record in ChocoPro, throughout 2021, has been incredibly solid. On this show, he will take on Hagane Shinnou, whose regular tag team partner will be involved in the main event to come. Shinnou’s last ChocoPro appearance was back on Episode #162, where Egg Tarts fell short in the three-way tag team main event. For Shinnou, a victory here could lead Egg Tarts closer to the tag team titles, especially if it’s Akki that’s pinned or submitted.

Yuna Mizumori vs. Chie Koishikawa

“Main Event Chie” headlines ChocoPro #166 as the fighter with “Endless Energy” battles “The Pineapple Girl” in singles competition. This isn’t the first time that Chie Koishikawa and Yuna Mizumori have faced off one-on-one. Their most recent singles encounter took place on ChocoPro #153 last month; despite a valiant effort from Koishikawa, it was Mizumori that emerged victorious. “Chiezo’s” luck has left something to be desired, as she’s lost every match she’s had since late August. It also doesn’t help that Mei Suruga, the other half of the Asia Dream Tag Team Champions, has been quite open about poking and prodding Koishikawa further. One has to wonder how much more the oftentimes cheerful fighter can take until she snaps.

It’s fair to assume, however, that Koishikawa’s bad luck will continue following ChocoPro #166. After all, “Yunamon” is among the most formidable competitors to step inside Ichigaya Chocolate Square. She has yet to lose a ChocoPro match since early September, so it’s plain to see why she has been in Super Asia title contention. Her continued work in Actwres girl’Z, DDT Pro-Wrestling, and other promotions has allowed her to refine her game that much further. Mizumori is a power-based wrestler, to be certain, but she’s able to take opponents by surprise with agility as well, making her one of the most well-rounded core competitors in ChocoPro. Can she overcome a motivated Koishikawa on Episode #166?
