#AndNEW: Donna Del Mondo Win Artist of Stardom Championship

Donna Del Mondo as Artist Champs

Stardom headed to Nagoya in preparation for their debut at Osaka-Jo Hall with an Artist of Stardom Championship match headlining.  The longest reigning Artist of Stardom champions of all time the Cosmic Angels (Tam Nakano, Unagi Sayaka, and Mina Shirakawa) set out to extend their record against Donna Del Mondo (Maika, Himeka, and Natsupoi). It was Donna Del Mondo who walked away with the championships to end the historic Cosmic Angels’ reign at 291 days and a record seven title defenses.

This wasn’t the first title match between these two trios, the Cosmic Angels defended their titles against the DDM trio back in May.  That match went to a 30-minute time limit draw as the Angels managed to cling on to their titles.  That wasn’t the case this time around as DDM came away with the championships to freshen up the title scene after the long run of the Cosmic Angels.

DDM’s first defense has already been made as their match with Queen’s Quest (Momo Watanabe, Saya Kamitani, and AZM) at Osaka-Jo Hall is now an Artist of Stardom Championship match between the two groups.  The reign of Maika, Himeka, and Natsupoi is in its infancy but it is already in danger against a very game Queen’s Quest trio that is loaded with talent.  Saya Kamitani especially has proven to be something of an Achilles heel to Maika lately which could be just what QQ needs to come away with the belts.
