#AndNEW: Nanae Takahashi and Hiroyo Matsumoto Win Beyond the Sea Tag Team Championship

Nanae Takahashi Hiroyo Matsumoto

During SEAdLINNNG‘s 9/22 show at Shinjuku, the team of Nanae Takahashi and Hiroyo Matsumoto captured the Beyond the Sea Tag Team Championship by defeating ASUKA and Makoto of Las Fresa de Egoistas. With this loss, the latter’s tag team title reign has ended at 119 days.

As always with the tag team wrestling-focused company, the match was incredible from start to finish and is a must-watch bout, even for fans that have never seen the promotion before.

This is the second time Nanae Takahashi and Hiroyo Matsumoto have held the Beyond the Sea Tag Team Championship. However, this is the first time that they have held tag team titles together. Earlier this year, Takahashi claimed the Beyond the Sea tag team titles alongside Arisa Nakajima; they would go on to hold the belts for 124 days before dropping them to ASUKA and Makoto. As for Matsumoto, she previously held the Beyond the Sea tag team titles with Yoshiko. In 2019, Matsumoto and Yoshiko for 463 days, the longest reign associated with the titles thus far.

With Ryo Mizunami, the current Beyond the Sea Champion, leaving to go to the United States, the Beyond the Sea Tag Team Championship is the only title remaining in SEAdLINNNG, at least for the time being. This could leave many wrestlers in limbo but Nanae Takahashi will undoubtedly put something together to keep fans interested.
