Josh Alexander to Face Christian Cage at Bound For Glory

The main event for Bound For Glory is set. Current X-Division Champion Josh Alexander will cash in “Option C” to challenge Christian Cage. The two champions will lock up for the IMPACT World Title on October 23rd in Las Vegas.

Josh Alexander retained his X-Division Title against Chris Sabin tonight at Victory Road. It was a hard-fought battle between the current champion and the former eight-time champion Sabin. Both men showed mutual respect at the end of the match, with Sabin extending his arm for a handshake and raising Alexander’s hand after the match. Cage also retained his IMPACT World Title against Ace Austin tonight.

As Christian was celebrating the win Alexander’s music hit and he approached the ring. Josh Alexander stared down Cage and his IMPACT World Title. After an intense staredown, Alexander held his X-Division Title up and yelled “Option C”. Alexander will vacate the X-Division Title and challenge for the World Title at Bound For Glory. It is a risky move for Alexander. If he loses at Bound For Glory he will lose the X-Division Title that he has held since April of this year. If we wins, he will walk out of Bound for Glory the IMPACT World Champion for the first time.

Brian Cage was the last wrestler to utilize Option C. He cashed in and was unable to defeat then-champion Johnny Impact at Homecoming 2019.
