This week’s edition of NXT saw the team of Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher take on Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan. Given the personalities involved in the match in question, one would have expected this contest to be hard-hitting and no-nonsense. The major talking coming out of the match, however, was not the action itself. Rather, it was the shocking return of Ridge Holland, who assisted Dunne and Lorcan in picking up the win over their opponents. Post-match, Holland hit a Yorkshire Kiss on a weary Ciampa. From there, the returning West Yorkshire native stood with the victors; from this, it was clear that an alliance had just taken form.

This event marks Ridge Holland’s first appearance on NXT since October 7, 2020. On this show, he took on Danny Burch in a winning effort. Post-match, Oney Lorcan rushed to the ring, which led to Holland battling the duo of Burch and Lorcan. During the melee, on the outside, Holland caught an airborne Lorcan. In the process, however, Holland’s legs gave out. It was reported that he suffered a dislocated ankle, a left leg fracture, and a dislocated knee patellar and a ruptured patellar tendon rupture in his right leg. Holland’s injury can be seen online, though bear in mind its graphic nature.
Originally signing with WWE in 2018, Ridge Holland appeared for not only NXT but the NXT UK brand as well. On the latter brand, he picked up victories over the likes of Tyson T-Bone and Joseph Conners. Last year, he seemed to be involved in a program with The Undisputed Era; following the main event of NXT TakeOver 31 this past October, Holland appeared at ringside holding an unconscious Adam Cole over his shoulder.
