Keith Lee Returns on Monday Night Raw, Answers Bobby Lashley’s Open Challenge

Keith Lee MVP Bobby Lashley

At the bottom of the second hour of Monday Night Raw, MVP and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley addressed the fans in attendance and at home. MVP admitted that, along with Lashley, he lost his focus, as they were preoccupied with champagne, women, and the high life. However, they knew that it was time to get serious once more. Lashley took to the microphone, demanding to know who would accept his open challenge on the show. To the surprise of many, it was Keith Lee, who had been out of action since this past February.

Though Lashley’s power was on display, Lee was no slouch in the match, muscling the WWE Champion into different corners. “The Limitless One’s” blinding speed also came into effect, leapfrogging the champion and executing a running crossbody. As it seemed that Lee was in control, a momentary distraction from MVP gave Lashley the opening he needed to strike, hitting a spear on the former NXT North American and NXT Champion on the outside. Back in the ring, Lee countered a Hurt Lock attempt, only to be taken down by the WWE Champion once more. One spear later and it was “The All Mighty” Lashley that emerged victorious.

Keith Lee had been absent from WWE programming since this past February. He was scheduled to compete at that month’s Elimination Chamber event, only to be pulled due to injury; he was to be part of a three-way match for the WWE United States Championship that also included fellow challenger Riddle and then-titleholder Lashley. Since then, Lee communicated with the WWE Universe via social media, though he was cryptic in regard to his return.
