NJPW, AJPW, NOAH, Six More Companies Coming Together for ‘LEGACY’ 70th Anniversary Show

On Friday, it was announced by the Japanese Wrestling Hall of Fame (NPH) that there will be a special 70th Anniversary of Japan Pro Wrestling History show titled “LEGACY.” The show will take place from the historic Korakuen Hall on Sep. 14 and 15. It will bring nine of Japan’s biggest male promotions together for two special nights. The companies included are New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), Pro Wrestling NOAH, DragonGate, Michinoku Pro, DDT Pro, Big Japan Pro Wrestling (BJPW), ZERO1, and 2AW. Freelancers, legends, and local groups are also invited to this major wrestling event states NPH.

The executive committee of the Hall of Fame features the family of legends — Genichiro Tenryu’s daughter Ayana Shimada, Tatsumi Fujinami’s son LEONA, and Riki Choshu’s son-in-law Shintaro Ikeno. It’s noted that the supporting members of the group are Tatsumi Fujinami, Riki Choshu, Genichiro Tenryu, Antonio Inoki, and HJT Production Company.

This event marks 70 years since Japan’s first-ever professional wrestling show which was held from Ryogoku Memorial Hall on Sep. 30, 1951. The Japan Wrestling Hall of Fame adds that they are aiming to give “hope” to professional wrestling fans by holding this major event together as one.

With so many major companies and historic names coming together, this is sure to be a must-see event for all by year’s end.

No talents or matches have officially been announced for the show as of this writing.
