This week’s edition of NWA Powerrr opened with a major announcement. National Wrestling Alliance promoter Billy Corgan opened the show alongside former World Wrestling Entertainment and IMPACT Wrestling star Mickie James. Corgan announced that the promotion would be returning to St. Louis between August 28 and 31. One of the events set to take place, on August 28, is the first NWA all-women’s PPV titled NWA Empowerrr. James will be leading the show as its Executive Producer. The other event, NWA 73, is an anniversary event that will take place on August 29.

Mickie James expressed pride in the event to come. She said that she wants the best of the best, regardless of where they work or where they may be signed. She also wanted to see the diamonds in the rough that have yet to show their skills. As the first NWA all-women’s PPV, NWA Empowerrr aims to do exactly that. James has been with WWE until this past April, when she was released alongside several other members of the roster.
As of this writing, no other details have been made public regarding the first NWA all-women’s PPV. It’s fair to expect that such regulars as Melina, Taryn Terrell, NWA World Women’s Kamille, and the promotion’s newest signee, Kylie Rae, will be in action. However, the promotion has been known to bring in various independent wrestlers, including Skye Blue and Jennacide. Perhaps we will see them, as well as some other notable names in the women’s wrestling scene, appear for this historic event.
