Following the three-way AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing match between Kenny Omega, Pac, and Orange Cassidy, Tony Schiavone stood in the ring to share some news. All Elite Wrestling is set to debut a new TV show, AEW Rampage, which will air during a 10 PM EST timeslot. Schiavone also announced that Rampage would have a new analyst. This was revealed to be none other than “The World’s Strongest Man,” Mark Henry, who greeted the fans live at Daily’s Place. Henry is expected to begin his analyst duties for AEW Rampage when the show debuts on August 13 on TNT. In addition to an analyst role, Henry will also serve as a coach.
Though Mark Henry is a two-time Olympian, winning bronze, silver, and gold medals, as well as an accomplished powerlifter, he is perhaps best known for his time in World Wrestling Entertainment. He initially joined the company in 1996, working for them during different eras. From his debut to the late 2010s, “The World’s Strongest Man” saw considerable success. His greatest achievement came in September of 2011, when he defeated Randy Orton at Night of Champions for the World Heavyweight Championship. Henry’s “Hall of Pain” run is still fondly remembered by fans, as it showcased him as a legitimate threat in the company.

The specific details of Mark Henry’s deal with AEW have yet to be revealed. All that’s known for certain is that he will be an analyst for AEW Rampage when it kicks off. Will he potentially join the company in an in-ring capacity, not unlike what’s been rumored for Paul Wight since his own arrival to the company? Henry is expected to be on AEW Dynamite this week, so tune in to learn more.
