Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling (TJPW), the sister company to DDT is already looking to the new year. Having already put forward the card for the event as well as made other major announcements for said event. The most major to come from it is that there will be a separate TJPW English Commentary stream. With the team of Mark Pickering and Stewart Fulton taking the helm as the English commentary team.
This is a major step forward as very few of any of the Cyberfight companies would have English commentary shows. DDT’s only English outings being Coming to America and Chris Brookes’ Produce show. And earlier in the month, Noah attempted something similar with the very same team. In this attempt at a global reach by the companies.
This show has become significant, as it puts a lot of pressure on Tokyo Joshi Pro as suddenly this show has gone from just one of their big show to one that the world is watching, and while it remains to be seen if they will succeed in this or not it will be interesting to see the ramifications of what will happen should this experiment succeed. As Tokyo Joshi Pro has flirted with trying to found outlets into the global markets. Most notably their current Champion in Yuka Sakazaki being in AEW, Thunder Rosa being International Princess champion while in NWA, as well as running their own show during Wrestlecon.
However, the pandemic has thrown all of that into chaos. And it seems like now more than ever it’s time for them to take matters into their own hands during these very uncertain times. And show off what pure Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling is like to the world that surrounds them. It will be very interesting to see how TJPW English Commentary turns out as it could mean big things in the future.
