HIREDHAUSEN: Danhausen Joins Ring of Honor

Danhausen

It’s been teased for much of 2020 through various mysterious videos via Ring of Honor – with rumblings of interest as far back as this summer after making his ROH debut in November of 2019 and into the new year, that ROH was very much keen on bringing the macabre stylings of Danhausen into Ring of Honor on a permanent basis. On Halloween, ROH finally revealed the highly anticipated news in a video where Danhausen himself revealed that ROH had finally hired the Michigan-based indie superstar.

Originally competing for years in the Midwest as Donovan Danhausen after his debut in 2013 in the Metro Detroit indies, he began to blossom in 2018 when he joined Ohio’s Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW). Over the next year, Danhausen would transform from simply another technical based tattooed wrestler into the bizarre and “very evil” painted face specter known simply as Danhausen, exploding into the US indies as one of its most beloved and enigmatic characters. Often pairing with two other indie wrestling stars – either WARHORSE in WARHAUSEN or Effy in Gaytanic Panic – he’s just as comfortable and beautifully twisted in singles action as well.

Danhausen made his ROH debut at TV tapings in November of 2019, debuting on ROH TV in December in a loss against Shane Taylor for the ROH World Television Championship. He returned for another round of tapings in January of 2020, losing to Rhett Titus on ROH TV and against Dak Draper, a young rising star with ROH at ROH Honor Reigns Supreme. He last appeared for ROH in the ring at February’s ROH Free Enterprise PPV, competing in the battle royal for the #1 Contendership for the ROH World Championship, which was won by Flip Gordon. In the closing “small print” at the end of the announcement video, Danhausen reveals that he will only secure a proper ROH contract if he can win one match before the end of 2020, but this appears to be in sync with his ROH videos over the summer in Danhausen’s near year-long quest to “officially” sign with Ring of Honor.
