At Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 3, a certain competitor will bring with him a sense of offension with old-fashioned flair. Earlier today, Game Changer Wrestling made the announcement that Simon Grimm, former NXT and WWE Superstar, will be making his third Bloodsport appearance. Further information regarding Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 3 will be detailed below.
Simon Grimm began his professional wrestling career in 2001. The first promotion he appeared for was All Pro Wrestling, based out of Hayward, California. He wrestled under his real name, Seth Lesser, for a brief period of time before being rechristened Psycho Seth. From there, he appeared for other promotions, including Empire Wrestling Federation, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and CHIKARA. He would go on to develop the character Ryan Drago, an old-timey character reminiscent of 20th-century strongmen and old-fashioned wrestlers. This character would carry over to WWE, where he signed in 2013, but he would go under a different name.
In June of 2004, now known as Simon Gotch, he formed a tag team with Aiden English in WWE. They became The Vaudevillains, a duo that harkened back to vaudeville acts popular during the early 1880s. They were a heel tag team for their first few years together, defeating such duos as Travis Tyler and Angelo Dawkins, in addition to Enzo Amore and Big Cass. As the months progressed, The Vaudevillains became fan favorites, ultimately winning the NXT Tag Team Championship from Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in August of 2015.
The same success didn’t follow Gotch and English to WWE’s main roster. Though they picked up a few notable wins, such as against The Lucha Dragons, they floundered in the years that followed. By April of 2017, Gotch was gone from the company. This didn’t spell the end of his wrestling career, however. In fact, once he returned to the independent scene, he did so under his new alias, Simon Grimm.
It's been said "There's no place like home." and Simon Grimm has found a cozy home for his violent tendencies here at – Josh Barnett's: #Bloodsport.

Post-WWE, Grimm appeared for various promotions, including Ring of Honor. However, it was Major League Wrestling where he became most prominent. During his time in MLW, not only did he work with Team Filthy, led by “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, but he went on to form Contra Unit alongside Josef Samael and Jacob Fatu. Contra Unit would quickly develop a reputation as one of the most devastating factions in wrestling.
Grimm’s work in GCW can’t be ignored, particularly in regard to Bloodsport. In April of 2019, he worked the first-ever Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, facing JR Kratos. The following September, GCW held its second Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, where Grimm challenged Anthony Carelli. Given Grimm’s power and martial arts ability, it’s safe to say that the former NXT Tag Team Champion fits like a glove in this environment. Expect to see his unique offense, cranked up to eleven, come Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 3.
GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 3 will take place at Marion County Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 11th, 2020. For those that are unable to attend live, Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport will air live on FITE.tv; further details can be found below.
