Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 3 has just gotten a little bit dirty. Earlier today, Game Changer Wrestling announced that former MLW World Heavyweight Champion “Filthy” Tom Lawlor will be participating in this hard-hitting event. It will bring together brawling, mixed martial arts, and other intense combat styles. Further information regarding the event will be detailed below.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, “Filthy” Tom Lawlor has experience in professional wrestling and mixed martial arts alike. Prior to becoming involved in MMA, Lawlor entered the wrestling business in the early-to-mid 2000s. He debuted for Southern Championship Wrestling Florida in July of 2005, competing against the likes of Ron Killings and Kip James, better known today as R-Truth and Billy Gunn, respectively. However, Lawlor’s wrestling career didn’t take off until several years later. In the meantime, he made a name for himself in MMA.
In terms of MMA, Lawlor competed on various platforms, including the eighth season of The Ultimate Fighter. It was here he became a member of Team Mir, captained by Frank Mir, who was impressed by the young Lawlor’s offense. Lawlor was an especially prominent fighter for The Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he picked up victories over such names as Kyle Kingsbury, CB Dollaway, and Jason MacDonald. Lawlor’s work in MMA couldn’t be ignored, but ultimately, wrestling called his name once more.

In 2017, Lawlor became a more prominent fixture in wrestling. In December of that year, he became Black Label Pro‘s first-ever Heavyweight Champion. However, Lawlor may be best known for his work in Major League Wrestling, where he debuted that same year. In February of 2019, Lawlor bested Low Ki for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, breaking the latter’s 205-day streak. Lawlor would go on to defend the title against Lawlor, Avalanche, and Jimmy Havoc before dropping it to Jacob Fatu the following July. Currently, Lawlor captains Team Filthy, wreaking havoc across MLW.
It’s important to note that “Filthy” Tom Lawlor is a fairly regular competitor at GCW events, too. Lawlor made his GCW debut in April of 2018, facing current WWE United Kingdom Champion WALTER at the inaugural Bloodsport. He made two more appearances for the organization, including at the second Bloodsport, where he challenged Davey Boy Smith Jr. Now that Lawlor is approaching his third Bloodsport event, he will be looking to show the world why, for years, he was considered one of the most dominant athletes in combat sports.
GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 3 will take place at Marion County Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 11th, 2020. For those that are unable to attend live, Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport will air live on FITE.tv; further details can be found below.
