Thunder Rosa Debuts in AEW; Challenges Hikaru Shida at All Out

Thunder Rosa

NWA World Women’s Champion and Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling International Princess Champion Thunder Rosa made her AEW debut on Saturday Night Dynamite.   Rosa cut a promo challenging AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida to a match at All Out.  She promises to help put the division on the map.

Rosa made waves earlier this year thanks to her fantastic series of matches with Allysin Kay over the NWA World Women’s Championship.  She has emerged as one of the top women’s wrestlers in all of North America and many fans were calling for her to work with AEW with her vs Shida being a much sought after rematch.

Despite only rising to prominence in 2020 Rosa has competed since 2014.  Since then she has toured japan with companies like TJPW and World Wonder Ring Stardom and has appeared for almost every major company in america including women’s wrestling giants Shine, RISE, and SHIMMER Wrestling.  Be it as a tag team performer with Holidead or on her own Rosa has always stood out but thankfully 2020 has seen fans finally recognise her talents.  Outside of wrestling Rosa also competes in Mixed Martial Arts for Combate Americas.  She also has runs own promotion Mission Pro Wrestling

Programming note: Next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite will air on August 27th instead of August 26th, due to TNT airing the NBA playoffs. Another episode in September is also being pre-empted. Make sure to set your DVR in order not to miss any of the action!
