Mio Shirai To Make A One-Off Return To The Ring For Ice Ribbon

Asuka

Mio Shirai will return to a wrestling ring to compete in a proper match for Ice Ribbon on their big Yokohama Buntai show on August 9th, 2020.  This has come about due to recent Ice Ribbon debutant Nao Ishikawa having to go for surgery following the discovery of an ovarian cyst.  The match will now be Akane Fujita and Asahi taking on Mio Shirai and Miku Aono (Actwres girl’Z)

Aside from a few exhibition appearances Shirai has not wrestled since her retirement in 2015.  Given the name most will already have guessed she is the sister of WWE NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai and the two did team together when they were both active, though never in Stardom.  As well as that they were in a faction known as Triple Tails with Asuka.

Even in retirement, Shirai has been loyal to Ice Ribbon holding a role as a referee and even serving as their trainer.  Now she fills in for them at their time of need.  While it is only a one time return it will be really great to see Mio Shirai in a wrestling ring again
