Preview: AEW Dynamite (6/3/20)

AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite returns to TNT this Wednesday.  One week removed from Double or Nothing 2020 and last week’s brawl between Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho, this week’s show will be looking to continue the run of form.  Having checked out what’s on offer, another action-packed episode looks to be on the cards.  Don’t believe me? Let me show you.

Nyla Rose vs Big Swole

AEW Dynamite

Nyla Rose lost her AEW Women’s Championship at Double or Nothing.  You can only be sure that the “Native Beast” is looking to rejoin the war path.  Standing in her way on her road to re-dominance is Big Swole.  Big Swole hasn’t worked an AEW match for a while; her last AEW bout being a victory over Leva Bates back in March.  The last time these two dominant women met resulted in a victory for Rose, back in January.  Can things work differently this time? It’s possible.  Tune in to find out.

Chris Jericho vs Colt Cabana

It is very rare these days to have two veterans who have never worked a match with each other.  Colt Cabana debuted in 1999.  Chris Jericho debuted in 1990.  That is fifty-one years of experience between the two of them, yet they have never crossed paths.  Therefore, this one well-and-truly fits the bill of “first time ever”.  Jericho comes into this match fresh off a brawl with Tyson and a Stadium Stampede defeat.  Cabana enters the match looking win after last week’s Battle Royal defeat.  Find out what happens when these two veterans enter the ring, this Wednesday on TNT.

FTR Sit Down With Tony Schiavone

AEW Dynamite

FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) debuted on last week’s Dynamite.  Formerly the WWE tag team The Revival, FTR will now be looking to establish themselves on new pastures.  For years now, FTR have been one of the world’s top tag teams – though, since their NXT days, they have been famously underutilized.  In saving The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) from a beat-down by The Butcher and The Blade last week, before confronting them, they have shown they mean business.  This week they sit down with AEW announcer, Tony Schiavone, to officially announce their arrival and their intentions. Don’t miss this.

Brian Cage In Action

AEW Dynamite

Another recent debut, Brian Cage won the Casino Ladder Match at Double or Nothing 2020.  In doing so, he has earned himself a shot at Jon Moxley‘s AEW Championship, presumably at Fyter Fest 2020.  This week, Cage is in action once more – just one week after his dominant, 1-minute Dynamite debut victory over Lee Johnson.  With Taz in his corner, this man is unstoppable.  Be sure to witness another squash match this Wednesday.

AEW World Tag Team Championships: Kenny Omega & Hangman Page (C) vs Kip Sabian & Jimmy Havoc W/ Penelope Ford

In defeating SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) last week, Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc became number one contenders for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.  With Adam Page now back with The Elite, following weeks of absence, the tag titles can be defended once more.  Kip Sabian has had four attempts at Kenny Omega in an AEW ring and has lost all four attempts.  He has also failed in all three attempts against Page.  Will having Jimmy Havoc in his corner be the deciding difference? Tune into AEW Dynamite this Wednesday to find out.

TNT Championship: Cody (C) vs Jungle Boy

https://twitter.com/i/status/1266897182600265728

Cody overcame the odds and defeated Lance Archer for the TNT Championship at Double or Nothing 2020.  Now, however, he has the task of defending it against last week’s number one contender battle royal winner, Jungle Boy.  These two have yet to meet in the ring, so this is yet another fresh match for a show which has had the tendency to lack freshness as of late.  Pitting the present against the future usually results in excellent matches and this should be no different.  Jungle Boy has proven over the past year that he has the potential to be a big star going forward.  Cody, love him or hate him, is one of the biggest names in wrestling today.  This should be a great match and an excellent main event.  You can watch AEW Dynamite live on TNT, this Wednesday at 8PM ET.
