Being The Elite: Avalon & Cutler Unite, Young Bucks Return

On this Monday’s episode of the Young Bucks YouTube series Being The Elite, the two least winningest wrestlers on the roster apparently decided less is more and combined as a new tag team to change their losing ways in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Peter Avalon (0-6 in 2020; 0-12 overall) convinced Brandon Cutler (0-7 in 2020; 0-12 overall) to join forces and the duo had an impromptu match at the “BTE Compound”, where they faced SCU’s Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian, with AEW announcer Excalibur calling the action. Sadly, their efforts only resulted in more humiliation, as both men were pinned in the ring at the same time.

As one half of The Librarians, Peter Avalon has had a tough road in AEW since landing the gig as the male half. He lost his debut match to Sonny Kiss at AEW Fight For The Fallen last July and has since lost to the likes of Kip Sabian, Luchasaurus, Scorpio Sky, Jimmy Havoc, and Colt Cabana. Cutler started his losing streak on the first episode of AEW Dynamite, in a loss to MJF, before extending with losing encounters with Joey Janela, Shawn Spears, Jimmy Havoc, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and Colt Cabana. Both men now drop to 0-13 with this match and it’ll be interesting to see if the duo continues to try their luck together to end their collective losing skids.

Team High Risk

In other action, The Young Bucks also wrestled a match against Team High Risk, featuring Simon Lotto & Steven Andrews. Team High Risk has been working the West Coast indies since 2011 with the likes of Insane Wrestling League (IWL), Alpha Omega Wrestling (AOW), Alternative Wrestling Show (AWS), and Big Valley Wrestling (BVW). The Bucks previously encountered Team High Risk in IWL in 2011 and 2012. It also marked the return of Nick Jackson to the ring following an injury angle played out following their loss to AEW World Tag Team Champions Kenny Omega & Hangman Page at AEW Revolution in February. Following their loss to the Young Bucks, Kazarian challenged Team High Risk to a “squash match” against SCU next week on Being the Elite.
