TakeOver PC: NXT to Air PPV Quality Matches

Triple H

With everything that is going on in the world right now, this was largely expected.  Earlier today, Sports Illustrated broke the news that there would be a big WWE NXT: TakeOver announcement coming.  WWE.com has now confirmed that “The Game”, Triple H, will be appearing on tomorrow’s weekly installment of NXT.  Going off what the announcement broke today, here is some thoughts on what is going to be announced.

What we know so far is that several matches set for NXT TakeOver: Tampa Bay have been moved.  Instead of featuring at TakeOver, they will be spread out over the next few weeks of weekly programming – starting April 1st.  This is, of course, down to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been disrupting sporting events – as well as general life – across the globe.  The number of people allowed to be at a given place is limited, therefore large scale events such as TakeOver will be affected.

TakeOver in Jeopardy?

Will TakeOver be moved to the WWE Performance Center, alongside WrestleMania XXXVI? Quite possibly.  However, expect to see Triple H make some other announcements.  Though WrestleMania season is being disrupted, it is still going ahead.  TakeOver will still be going ahead in some capacity.  There will be plenty of great wrestling announced to keep the fans entertained during self-isolation.  What does this mean for the various championships being defended, such as Rhea Ripley’s NXT Women’s Championship? Stay tune.  So stay home, switch on the TV and watch some wrestling.
