#AndNEW: Steph De Lander Captures Newy Pro Women’s Title

Steph De Lander

During the 2020 edition of Newcastle Pro Wrestling’s (Newy Pro) annual Invictus Tournament Steph De Lander put together an incredible win streak. Ultimately De Lander would win three matches in a single night and become the new Newy Pro Women’s Champion by defeating Bel Pierce.

The Invictus Tournament sees trios competing in a tournament with the winning trio awarded gauntlets which allow them to challenge for any title at any time. For this year’s tournament, De Lander was joined by Headhunter Rig and Dazza as they formed the team known as Big Rigs.

In their first-round clash the Big Rigs would defeat Black Shirt Cool Group (BSCG – consisting of Shazza McKenzie, Jax Jordan, and Ricky South). Following that victory, Big Rigs would go on to battle Coast Born Killers (CBK – consisting of Kellyanne, Tyson Reed and Ben Braxton).

Finally in a historic moment, De Lander would be the first person to ever instantly throw down their gauntlet as she challenged Bel Pierce for the Women’s Championship.

With this victory, Steph De Lander becomes just the fourth woman to hold the title. Previous Newy Pro Women’s Champions include Indi Hartwell, Harley Wonderland and Bel Pierce. By capturing the Newy Pro Women’s Championship De Lander has also added it to her list of accolades, having previously held the Venom Pro Wrestling and Melbourne City Wrestling Women’s Titles.
