The Hired Gun: Jeff Cobb Arrives in AEW

Jeff Cobb

In a shocking moment on Wednesday’s edition of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Dynamite, Chris Jericho‘s Inner Circle increased its membership by one. In the closing seconds of Jon Moxley‘s match against Santana, Jeff Cobb came to the ring and attacked Moxley, allying with the Inner Circle as Chris Jericho’s new “hired gun”.

Jeff Cobb has made a name for himself as one of the top wrestlers in the US indie scene, holding the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) World Championship for 427-days, after gaining national attention in Lucha Underground as Matanza Cueto. He became a top draw on the independents before signing with Ring of Honor in late 2018. During his tenure with ROH, he captured the ROH World Television title for 222-days and worked with NJPW, where he won the NEVER Openweight Championship. His contract expired at the end of 2019 with ROH and Cobb is currently still working ROH as a freelancer, but that could all change if Cobb has signed on long-term with AEW. For now, Cobb is now slated to face Jon Moxley next week on Dynamite.
