Two Challenges Made for Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4

Game Changer Wrestling (GCW)‘s Joey Janela’s Spring Break has become a staple of WrestleMania weekend. With Joey Janela signed to an All Elite Wrestling contract, he is gearing up for one of the biggest Spring Breaks of all time. Talent announcements have included Will Ospreay and The Great Muta. On Friday at GCW’s Just Being Honest, we got two challenges that could be geared towards two big match-up announcements, as two of GCW’s breakout stars of 2019 issued challenges to two superstars who are well into their magical careers.

The first involved one of GCW’s 2019 discovers, Southern indie sensation Blake Christian. Following his big win over luchador Arez, Blake Christian decided to call his shot for Spring Break 4 in the Tampa area this WrestleMania Week. He called out a man that he had been poking on Social Media for weeks, none other than Will Ospreay himself.

Tony Deppen faced off against Mance Warner. After the match concluded Tony Deppen grabbed the mic and called out “The Best in the World”. The crowd initially thought he was also going to challenge Will Ospreay, but Tony Deppen quickly told them it wasn’t him. Instead, he wanted to face the greatest wrestler in the last two decades, someone, you could see every single night on tv whether it be IMPACT or NXT. The man Tony Deppen wanted to face at Joey Janela’s Spring Break was Alex Shelley.

Alex Shelley most recently debuted on NXT with his former tag team partner KUSHIDA as the Time Splitters to compete in the Dusty Rhodes Classic. Alex Shelley has appeared on almost every major promotion from his start in Ring of Honor to TNA/IMPACT to a run in New Japan. Shelley will be making his GCW debut at Spring Break against one of the best indie wrestlers today, Tony Deppen. On Saturday, Joey Janela himself confirmed that Deppen vs Shelley was the first official match of Spring Break – will Blake Christian get his wish too, in IWGP superstar Will Ospreay?
