While the biggest story of the two-day Wrestle Kingdom 14 was Tetsuya Naito regaining the IWGP Heavyweight Championship from Kazuchika Okada, there were a few interesting moments that teased two major feuds coming out of the Tokyo Dome.
Minoru Suzuki Wants Jon Moxley
Minoru Suzuki, the leader of Suzuki-gun and one of NJPW’s most intimidating fighters, has had his sights set on IWGP US Champion Jon Moxley for a while now. But following Moxley’s defense against Juice Robinson on Sunday night’s Night 2, Suzuki could wait no longer. Post-match, he attacked Jon Moxley and made his intentions clear that he was coming for a man Suzuki referred to as “just a boy”.
KENTA Is Aiming Straight to the Top
While he was unsuccessful in his own title defense of the NEVER Openweight title earlier in the night, Bullet Club’s KENTA didn’t seem to upset with the loss at the close of Wrestle Kingdom 14. The former GHC Heavyweight Champion in Pro Wrestling NOAH attacked Naito following his hard-fought victory, teasing that KENTA is ready to become the next two belts champion.
