Preview: AAW – Unstoppable (11/30/19)

AAW Unstoppable

After a brief hiatus, Chicago wrestling promotion AAW Pro is getting set for their return to action on November 30th for AAW: Unstoppable 2019. While there are still some announced wrestlers that are yet to have signed matches, the card as it stands looks like one for the ages. A women’s title match, a world title match, three debuts and a lot more is to come from the return of AAW. So, here’s a look at the announced card set for AAW: Unstoppable 2019

Joey Lynch vs Travis Titan

AAW Unstoppable

In one of the undercard matches announced, Joey Lynch takes on the debuting Travis Titan in singles action. Lynch, a 17-year veteran, is making his fourth appearance for AAW,  hoping to secure his first victory in the company. Alternatively, Travis Titan has only been wrestling for about three years, mostly competing in smaller companies in the midwest. This is an important match for both men as they try to make a name for themselves in one of America’s biggest indie promotions.

Myron Reed vs Hakim Zane

Following a beatdown at AAW: Defining Moments 2019 on Myron Reed, Hakim Zane is set to make his in-ring return to AAW against his prey from that night in September. Alongside his partner Karam, Hakim made an impact in AAW after weeks of anonymous videos hyping up the duo before their attack on AAW regular Myron Reed. Will Myron Reed’s fire be enough to prevail, or will Hakim Zane be able to ride his momentum to a victory when all is said and done?

Curt Stallion vs Eddie Kingston

AAW Unstoppable

Next up we have former stablemates Eddie Kingston and Curt Stallion battling one another in what is sure to be a hard-hitting matchup. After their betrayal of WRSTLING several months ago, Curt Stallion & Jake Something have been at odds with Kingston, a loyal member of the group. As David Starr has only made sporadic appearances in the company throughout the year, it has been left to the Mad King to go to war on behalf of the team that doesn’t need the E. With Jake Something not announced for the show, it looks like this one on one match will truly be a test of skill rather than simply a numbers game.

Killer Kross Debuts

After repeatedly attacking members of the roster over the past couple of shows, Killer Kross is finally set to make his in-ring AAW debut against an undetermined opponent on November 30th. Stating his intentions to rule AAW, it remains to be seen how quickly he can accomplish his goals with such a stacked roster still in his way. Plus, without Scarlett Bordeaux by his side, will Killer Kross be able to bring his A-Game when he enters the Logan Square Auditorium alone for the first time in his career?

Masked Good Brother #3 vs Nick Gage

In one of the highlights of the card, Nick Gage is set to make his AAW debut to fight against Masked Good Brother #3, a man who has a $10,000 bounty on his head. Good Brother (who is said to be VERY similar to Mance Warner) has been put in this position by longtime rival Jimmy Jacobs, and Nick Gage is willing to do the dirty work for the money. It is hard to predict anything that Nick Gage does, but one thing’s for sure – The King came for a fight.

AAW Tag Team Championship Match: The Besties In The World (Davey Vega & Mat Fitchett) (C) vs The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)

In a much-anticipated renewal of their feud earlier this year, the Besties In The World will defend their tag team gold against Zachery Wentz and Trey Miguel of the Rascalz. This will be the Besties’ first defense of the titles in this, their third reign as champions. On top of this, while the team of Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier have held the belts in the past, this will be Trey Miguel’s first opportunity at Tag Team gold in AAW. Will the Rascalz be able to pull out the upset victory, or will the Besties continue to stand atop the mountain that is the Tag Team division?

AAW Women’s Championship Match: Jessicka Havok (c) vs Kris Statlander

AAW Unstoppable

In the first of two planned championship matches of the night, the reigning AAW Women’s Champion Jessicka Havok takes on a rising star of women’s wrestling in Kris Statlander. Only in her third year of wrestling, Kris has taken AAW by storm over the last 7 months and is now getting her first shot at the women’s championship. On the other side of the coin, the longest reigning women’s champion has proven to be quite a difficult mountain to climb for other female competitors. Will we witness a crowning of a new champion, or will Havok reign supreme in yet another title defense?

AAW Heavyweight Championship Match: Josh Alexander (c) vs Ace Romero

Finally, the main event of the evening sees the Big Belt on the line as Josh Alexander attempts to successfully defend the title for the first time in either of his two reigns as champion. Winning the belt following his Jim Lynam Memorial Tournament victory, Alexander has all the momentum in the world on his side. As for his opponent, Ace Romero has consistently been a highlight of AAW for a while now, and after winning the #1 Contenders match at Defining Moments 2019, he very well could be on his way to upset the reigning champion.
