Raw Highlights Rundown – Night 2 WWE Draft Results (10/14/19)

Brock LesnaR raw highlights wwe draft

The final night of the WWE Draft has officially come and gone and for the most part, the rosters have been made excluding the free agents and a possible blockbuster trade that Booker T hinted at during Monday Night Raw. Here on the Raw highlights, we will discuss the best moments as well as every single WWE draft pick made on night two.

WWE Draft First Overall Pick Represents

Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was originally set to take on Sasha Banks in a “last time ever” match between the two but it was announced earlier that Banks was not cleared for competition, leading to Charlotte Flair representing for SmackDown in her place. It was a rivalry renewed and some of the best women in the business put on another great match between each other. “The Man” and “The Queen” brought it to each other per usual in one of the most physical matches in their rivalry. Charlotte became furious as the match went on which ultimately cost her in the end, as the 2019 WWE Draft’s first overall pick rolled up Charlotte for the three count and to secure Raw the first pick for the second night.

WWE Draft Results

1st Round

1.1 – Raw selects Universal Champion Seth Rollins

Raw keeps their champion as Seth Rollins became the first pick of night two. Rollins will look to be the top guy on Raw for at least the next year, with fans on his side or not. Rollins has “The Fiend” to deal with one more time at Crown Jewel and made his mind up when he attacked Bray Wyatt at the Firefly Fun House and burned it down.

1.2 – SmackDown selects WWE Champion Brock Lesnar

The only correct answer to losing out on one world champion is to draft the other. SmackDown now has the “Beast Incarnate” and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar to represent the brand.

1.3 – Raw selects Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair is back on the same brand as Becky Lynch and now will be chasing her Raw Women’s Championship to try and become the 11-time women’s champion.

1.4 – SmackDown selects The New Day

Once again, The New Day stays together. Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods will certainly do their best to bring the positivity to SmackDown night in and night out as they have been in years.

1.5 – Raw selects Andrade and Zelina Vega

For over a year now it has sounded like Andrade will be the next huge world champion but he is still yet to capture any gold since being on the main roster. With Zelina Vega remaining by his side, the opportunity is still possible and welcomed for “El Idolo”.

2nd Round

2.1 – Raw selects WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors

Asuka and Kairi Sane now find their new home on Raw as they looked to defend the tag team championships as a part of the best women’s division out of Raw and SmackDown.

2.2 – SmackDown selects Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan is in a weird stage where fans do not know if they want to cheer for “The Planet’s Champion” or not. Regardless, SmackDown gets the former WWE Champion and WrestleMania main eventer who is sure to be a star for the blue brand.

2.3 – Raw selects Rusev

Yes! Rusev gets to continue his rivalry with Bobby Lashley. How exciting? Hopefully Rusev can right his future there.

2.4 – SmackDown selects SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley

The new and improved Bayley is the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion and just happens to remain on the show as well. WWE may not have a more exciting person on the roster than Bayley right now.

2.5 – Raw selects Aleister Black

“The Dutch Destroyer” is now viewed as an incredibly high-value selection as he goes in the second round. Aleister Black can now attempt to assert himself as Raw’s best as he remains undefeated.

3rd Round

3.1 – Raw selects Cedric Alexander

Cedric Alexander has been displaying what he can do as a part of Monday nights for the past few months and happily continues to do so as the first pick in the third round, going ahead of former world champions.

3.2 – SmackDown selects Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn

Overlooking the selection of Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn is something many may do but getting both these talented men can really put SmackDown over the top.

3.3 – Raw selects Humberto Carillo

One of the more shocking but exciting picks of the draft was Raw’s choice of Humberto Carillo in the third round. Time for him so surprise some people and get his name out there as a former member of 205 Live.

3.4 – SmackDown selects Ali

Ali is one of the best stories and talents in the WWE. Hopefully, his fans can see him rise to new heights in the coming months.

3.5 – Raw selects Erick Rowan

Erick Rowan is heading to Raw, leaving Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan.

4th Round

4.1 – Raw selects Buddy Murphy

Being at the right place at the right time proved to help Buddy Murphy just a short few months ago and now he gets a new chance to shock the world on Monday nights.

4.2 – SmackDown selects Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode

The now-former tag team champions, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, head to SmackDown as a tag team to try and get back on track.

4.3 – Raw selects Jinder Mahal

The former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal is now on the red brand when he returns from injury.

4.4 – SmackDown selects Carmella

Carmella becomes the fourth woman to join Friday Night SmackDown as she hopes to return to championship glory.

4.5 – Raw selects 24/7 Champion R-Truth

Sadly, Carmella and R-Truth have been separated but the 20-time 24/7 Champion is on the red brand.

5th Round

5.1 – Raw selects Samoa Joe

The steal of the draft? Quite possibly, as the injured Samoa Joe fell down the draft board and became the property of Monday nights from this moment forward.

5.2 – SmackDown selects The Miz

When the steal of the draft is being considered, both Joe and The Miz are in the discussion. Getting a Grand Slam Champion in the fifth round can not at all be overlooked and SmackDown managed to do exactly that.

5.3 – Raw selects Akira Tozawa

Akira Tozawa is a former Cruiserweight Champion and can show his talents in hopes of showing he is one of the best from 205 Live.

5.4 – SmackDown selects King Corbin

The King might have fell down the draft board but will absolutely be a featured part of SmackDown.

5.5 – Raw selects Shelton Benjamin

A veteran presence in Shelton Benjamin can always be a great addition.

6th Round

6.1 – Raw selects Rey Mysterio

A legend selected in the sixth round? Guess so, as Rey Mysterio is going to be remaining on Raw.

6.2 – SmackDown selects Chad Gable

Shorty Gable is not welcomed around here. The former Olympian can be a top star in the making.

6.3 – Raw selects Titus O’Neil

One of the best people in wrestling is rightfully chosen by USA Network and Raw in Titus O’Neil.

6.4 – SmackDown selects Elias

Who wants to walk with Elias? FOX and SmackDown clearly do.

6.5 – Raw selects Liv Morgan

“Miss Irrelevant” will surely prove to be the steal of the women’s division as Liv Morgan heads to Raw. It is only a matter of time before we see what the new Liv is.

#AndNEW: The Viking Raiders Become Raw Tag Team Champions

History has been made and it was made clear. The Viking Raiders became the new Raw Tag Team Champions in a dominant win over the now former champions, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. A Viking Experience finish got them the win and made it perfectly clear. After the match, The Vikings Raiders made the world know that they were the first to ever win the Raw Tag Team Championships, NXT Tag Team Championships, ROH World Tag Team Championships, and IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. They will lead the Raw tag division into the new era.

Raw MVP: Buddy Murphy vs Cedric Alexander

If this is what the new Raw is going to be, buckle up ladies and gentlemen. The former Cruiserweight Champions Cedric Alexander and Buddy Murphy were both drafted by Raw earlier in the night and immediately put into action. Not so shockingly, this match was crazy from the word go. Alexander and Murphy had a rivalry on 205 Live that was not forgotten but the diehard fans and now brought to the main stage of Monday nights. Buddy Murphy picked up the victory on a picture-perfect Murphy’s Law, making his mark on Raw in his first night on the show. Paul Heyman may be on to something by utilizing the former Cruiserweights, which is all we can ask for.

Now it all has come and gone and we await the big blockbuster trade that is being rumored to be announced on WWE Backstage and where the free agents could end up. Be sure to check back at Last Word on Pro Wrestling for all the news that comes throughout the week regarding the new rosters and any moves that could come about.
