Team World Announced For 2019 CMLL Grand Prix Tournament

Last week on CMLL Informa, team Mexico was announced for this year’s Grand Prix Tournament. This week, Julio Cesar Rivera closed the show with the participants for “Team World”. Those involved include Kenny King, Mark Briscoe, Jay Briscoe and Matt Taven of Ring Of Honor, Luke Hawx and Oraculo of The Crash Lucha, Big Daddy, representing the United States, and Mecha Wolf 450 representing Puerto Rico. The big match is scheduled to take place on Friday night, August, 30th beginning at 8:30 pm, Live, from Arena Mexico.

It’s worth noting that RUSH and Matt Taven are set for an ROH World Title match soon. With both men on opposite teams, it’s clear both men will have the opportunity to get their hands on each other. RUSH, since debuting with ROH has had one of the most successful stints of anyone in the companies history with being undefeated and winning nearly all his matches very convincingly. Matt Taven has been on a roll himself since becoming the ROH World Champion since winning it from former champion Jay Lethal and Villain Enterprises leader, Marty Scurll at the historic G1 Supercard Of Honor at Madison Square Garden.

On Monday nights CMLL show from Arena Puebla right before the second fall of the first match on the card, the commentary team announced the date for the promotions biggest event of the year, the 86 Aniversario show. September 27th is the date set for the event which is also the date of ROH Death Before Dishonor. Both shows will be available on Honor Club as ROH has recently announced it would be streaming the big CMLL show through their streaming service. What could that mean for RUSH, however? Will El Toro Blanco be headlining the ROH show on that night or will RUSH be main eventing the CMLL 86th Anniversary show?
