Preview: IMPACT Wrestling – Unbreakable (8/2/19)

Unbreakable

This Friday night IMPACT Wrestling returns to IMPACT +, the promotions multi-platform digital subscription VOD and Live event service Which contains over 3000 hours of video spanning from day 1 of the promotion over 17 years ago. IMPACT Wrestling brings us a show entitled, “Unbreakable”. The show will be headlined by the historic Slammiversary main event of “The Undeniable” Tessa Blanchard versus “The Draw” Sami Callihan and will feature returns and the IMPACT Wrestling debut of a trio you would’ve never thought you’d see at IMPACT Wrestling. Here’s more.

Number 1 Contenders Match For The IMPACT Wrestling World Title- Tessa Blanchard vs. Sami Callihan

At Slammiversary we saw round one between Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard in the companies first ever intergender main event match. After a hard-fought slobber knocker of a match, Sami Callihan was able to finish Blanchard with his patented pile driver finisher. Since Slammiversary, IMPACT management put together a show called “Mashup” where we saw unusual alliances being formed such as the team of Callihan and Blanchard. The goal of the tournament was to have the winning tag-team battle each other for a number 1 contenders match for the world title at “Unbreakable”. Fast forward to last weeks IMPACT Wrestling.

After Sami Callihan called out Tessa Blanchard, he admitted how much respect he had for her and ended up shaking her hand. However, Sami quickly went back to his disgusting ways and wit the microphone, tapped Tessas rear end while telling her, “I’ll see you there Tuts!” Tessa quickly didn’t have it and would smash Callihan with a “Magnum”.

Callihan has been on a helluva run with IMPACT Wrestling and many would argue this is the year of OVE with Callihan at the helm. Since Samis presence, the Christ Brothers became tag team champions, the addition of Madman Fulton grew the already powerful trio and brought them to new heights. Jake Christ on last weeks episode won his first IMPACT Wrestling X-Division title, and Sami Callihan was recently the main event at one of the promotions premier events in Slammiversary. But now the stakes are even higher. Who will win the match and become the number one contender for Brian Cage’s world title?

Rhino vs. Moose

At IMPACT Wrestlings Slammiversary at the conclusion of the Michael Elgin and Brian Cage match, A mysterious man in a black hood and mask and sweat, came to an already brutalized Cage’s help and speared (or shall we say, Gored) through Elgin. On this past week’s IMPACT Wrestling we saw Rhino make his return and do it again after Elgin thought he had him this time around. Now for his return, he will have a match that’ll test the master of the Gore as he faces Mr. IMPACT, Moose. Will Rhino be able to defeat Moose and provide him with yet a Gore? Or will Moose win the match and show us why he truly is, Mr. IMPACT?

Scott Steiner, Petey Williams, and Jordynne Grace vs.?

“BIG POPPA PUMP IS YOUR HOOK UP!, HOLLER, IF YOU HEAR ME!”, no words speak truer than this when the Big Bad Booty Daddy is in the house. Scott Steiner returns to IMPACT Wrestling and brings a couple of Pumps with him as Big Poppa and Momma Pump, Jordynne Grace along with Maple Leaf Muscle, Petey Williams, team together in a dream tag match against a team yet to be named. What will happen this Friday when this once in a lifetime powerhouse team join forces and meets their opponents?

IMPACT Knockouts Championship –Taya Valkyrie (C) vs. Havok

According to Taya, Havok continues to follow Taya as she looks to get a run at the IMPACT Knockouts Championship, even after a shocking win at Slammiversary from Taya, defeating Su Yung, Havok and Rosemary in a Monsters Ball Match. Johnny Bravo tried to help Taya by having Havok deciding on doing it the hard way, or the fun way. Needless to say, Havok chose the hard way after she nearly choked the life out of Johnny Bravo. Can Taya escape the pandora’s box that she opened recently and defeat Havok? Or will Taya’s troubles finally catch up to her and Havok is able to walk out of “Unbreakable” as the new IMPACT Knockouts champion?

Michael Elgin vs. Eddie Edwards

The “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin continues his path of destruction in IMPACT Wrestling as he enters “Unbreakable” with his mindset on Eddie Edwards. Elgin has made a name for himself since debuting at IMPACT Wrestling as he’s taken several people to the hospital, from Brian Cage to Willie Mack to Rich Swann. Will Eddie Edwards be his next victim? Or will Eddie Edwards be able to find a weakness and break the Unbreakable one?

IMPACT Tag Team Title Match – The North (C) vs. Reno Scum vs. Willie Mack and Rich Swann

Photo: Impact

Since winning the titles at “Bash At The Brewery” from LAX, The North has quickly dominated the tag team scene and have developed a confidence that may lead to a lengthy tag team title run. However, in order to be great, the team has to defend all teams that come their way. Such as the case with Reno Scum and the team of Rich Swann and Willie Mack. “The North” surely have their toughest test to date as they take on the battle-tested teams. Reno Scum had a short and successful run with IMPACT a couple of times before, and as a team, we have witnessed Swann and Mack do some amazing things in the ring.
Will The North be able to come out on top at “Unbreakable” and prove to the world that they can take on all comers with winning ways? or will we see brand new tag champs this Friday night?
