#AndNEW: Jacob Fatu Wins MLW World Heavyweight Championship

“The Samoan Werewolf” has found his next victim and it was Major League Wrestling (MLW) World Heavyweight Champion “Filthy” Tom Lawlor. On Saturday night’s live special, Kings of Colosseum, Jacob Fatu shocked the Chicago crowd by ending Lawlor’s World title reign at 155-days. The feud between Lawlor and CONTRA (Fatu, Josef Samael, and Simon Gotch) has been building for months, with Lawlor bringing in the Von Erichs (Ross & Marshall) to help even the sides. But when it came down to the two heavyweights colliding on Saturday, it was Jacob Fatu who emerged as the new MLW World Champion.

Jacob Fatu is part of the legendary Anoa’i Family, the Samoan dynasty that includes current WWE Superstars Roman Reigns and the Usos, as well as past stars like Yokozuna, Umaga, and Rikishi. Jacob Fatu is the son of former WWE Superstar Tama/The Tonga Kid, as well as the nephew of Yokozuna, Umaga and Rikishi and cousins of the Usos. Several of Jacob’s other cousins, including Sefa Fatu and Lance Anoa’i, are also making huge strides in the indie scene at the moment.
