Raw Highlights Rundown – Ricochet Finds His Stomping Ground (6/17/19)

Another day, another Monday Night Raw. Believe it or not however, this time it wasn’t that bad. In no way would it be considered a great show, but it included some moments. As the go-home show for WWE Stomping Grounds as a United States Championship contender was to be named in a Fatal 5 Way match as well as an exciting main event. As always people, here are the Raw highlights.

Raw Highlights: Firefly Fun House Episode 9

The darkest episode yet proves one thing: Bray Wyatt is near. When the power of the Fun House is announced as “Fear”, you know that this was a creepy one. From Ramblin’, Abby, Mercy, Huskus, and Abby telling the viewer to join them to the words of “Let Me In” being the main tale of this one, the creepiness and darkness of the Firefly Fun House is close to unleashing “The Fiend” on the WWE. Enjoy the episode.

Raw Highlights: Ten Minute Clinic – Seth Rollins vs Daniel Bryan

Some nights, WWE can produce a matchup that makes you forget the actual PPV matchup for the championship in the future. That was the case last night. Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan put on a show before you finally realized they were not feuding. Instead, Rollins vs Baron Corbin is the plan for Sunday. These two’s first match of the night ended in disqualification when Rowan would slam Rollins with the Iron Claw, leading to chaos as the locker room poured out. It was soon be announced that the match would be restarted and for the 10 minutes the viewers could see, it was certainly exciting. Fans have realized by now (hopefully) that Daniel Bryan is still one of the best in the world. And pairing him with another who is viewed in that stature can lead to even more entertainment for the fans.

While most tag team champions facing the world champion of the brand would usually be held in smaller regard, Daniel Bryan changes that. Bryan had never been beaten by Rollins prior to this matchup and the champ did all he could to survive. After two attempts at the LeBell Lock that would seemingly end the Universal Champion, Seth Rollins would battle back. Following his turnaround enzuigiri, Rollins would hit The Stomp to gain the victory. These 10 minutes were some of the best 10 minutes of Raw this year. Unfortunately, Baron Corbin was there to soil that immediately. But hey, if you want a match to watch from WWE television this week, this is the one.

Raw MVP: Ricochet

If you have been reading my reviews for a long period of time, there is a consistent point in every Raw Rundown. That point? “The One and Only” Ricochet. Ricochet has begun to really gain back the momentum he had when he was originally called up to the main roster. With two victories over Cesaro in their mini “Best of Three” series, it was clear he may finally be on the fast track for something bigger. That is where the Fatal 5 Way match comes in, as Ricochet along with Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, The Miz, and Cesaro would compete to become the number one contender at Stomping Grounds for Samoa Joe’s United States Championship.

Fatal 5 Way: Ricochet vs The Miz vs Braun Strowman vs Bobby Lashley vs Cesaro

Following two quick eliminations by Braun Strowman on Cesaro and Lashley, it seemed as though the “Monster” was on his way. Instead, the two eliminated men would take down Strowman, allowing Ricochet to hit the 630 Splash on Braun to pick up the huge elimination. It would then be down to Miz and Ricochet. Earlier in the day, WWE released a shirt for Ricochet with the new slogan of “Superheroes are Real”. That would prove, as Ricochet would hit a Codebreaker on The Miz, leading to another 630 Splash to pick up the victory and send Ricochet to Stomping Grounds to face Samoa Joe.

When the WWE utilizes their talent, good things can happen. Example, Ricochet. Sadly, that cannot be said about everyone else but that is a discussion for another day. This was by far the best Raw in weeks. And while that does not take much, hopefully we can move on from Baron Corbin being in the title picture after Stomping Grounds. Make sure to tune back tomorrow morning as all the best SmackDown LIVE highlights will be brought to you in the Rundown!
