#AndNEW: RUDO Lightning Captures Undisputed WrestleZone Championship

At tonight’s WrestleZone Regal Rumble event in Aberdeen, Scotland, RUDO Lightning captured the promotion’s Undisputed Championship in the main event. He won the annual Regal Rumble Match to earn the right to face Damien for the gold at the upcoming Aberdeen Anarchy event on April 13th but after attacking the champ post-match and saying some comments about his daughter, the match was on.

A ref bump followed, allowing RUDO to smack Damien with the title belt to bring an end to the reign of the fan favourite. Lightning proclaimed himself to be WrestleZone’s worst nightmare, something which could very well come true now that he has the company’s top prize in his possession.

While he did win the ICW Square Go! last month as well, this title victory marks the first championship RUDO Lightning has held in almost six years. His most recent reign with a championship, the ICW Heavyweight Championship, ended on May 5th 2013. Prior to this, he was also a former two-time British Championship Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion, one-time BCW Openweight Champion, one-time BCW Tag Team Champion alongside his Operation RedWolf partner Wolfgang, and a one-time Scottish Wrestling Alliance Laird of the Ring Champion.

As mentioned earlier, WrestleZone are gearing up for their Aberdeen Anarchy show on April 13th. Already confirmed for that event is a triple threat match between Crusher Craib, Lionheart, and Irish sensation Bingo Ballance, a triple threat steel cage match for the Tag Team Championships between the team of Scotty Swift and Johnny Lions, The Thunder Buddies (Blue Thunder and William Sterling), and defending champions The Kings of Catch (Aspen Faith and Lewis Girvan), and Regal Rumble runner-up Zach Dynamite taking on former WWE Cruiserweight Champion PAC.
