#AndNEW: Championships Change Hand on AAA’s Guerra de Titanes

Last night, AAA Worldwide presented their Guerra de Titanes PPV. The show didn’t have their main champion, Rey Fenix since he was out with an injury. At the end of the show, Fenix was supposed to go against Brian Cage for the AAA Mega Championship, but it couldn’t be done. Moreover, the AAA Cruiserweight Champion, Sammy Guevara, was absent in the show. Nonetheless, AAA saw three championship change in the same night.

AAA Reina de Reinas Championship

The first championship win on Guerra de Titanes came from arguably the leader of the women’s division, Lady Shani. She beat Faby Apache, La Hiedra and Scarlett Bordeaux at the start of the show. Shani previously beat Faby Apache for her hair, but the AAA Reina de Reinas championship was still on her enemy’s waist. Shani surprised Apache and took the win. She’s now a 2x Reina de Reinas Champion.

AAA Trios Championships

The second win of the night came from a group of talented young stars. Angelikal, who is a promising young man, was awarded the character Myzteziz Jr – a callback to the former gimmick of the original Mistico. The young trio of Myzteziz Jr., Hijo del Vickingo and Laredo Kid beat El Nuevo Poder del Norte to win the AAA Trios Championships. Later after the match, the OGTs interrupted the celebration and again, the young trio – without Vickingo and with Parka – got the win.

AAA Latin American Championship

The most important win of the night came from Lucha Underground star Drago. The former LU Trios Champion went against one of the most important wrestlers in AAA, Hijo del Fantasma. The latter is going through hard times after losing his mask against L.A. Park at TripleMania XXVI. Drago beat Hijo del Fantasma to become the new AAA Latin American Champion. This is arguably Drago’s biggest win. His tag team with Aero Star had broke-up, so this win represents the right direction for his singles run.
