Preview: IMPACT/BTW Gold Rush (11/30/18)

IMPACT Wrestling returns for its next free live special this Friday on their Twitch channel, produced in partnership with California’s Big Time Wrestling. Lots of IMPACT action as the IMPACT stars get ready for January’s Homecoming PPV in Nashville, with some debuts from some BTW stars. Big Time Wrestling is one of the longest active indie promotions in the US, founded in 1996 in Fremont, California.

IMPACT/BTW Gold Rush (11/30/18)

Rich Swann vs. Matt Sydal

Swann and Sydal have been feuding since September, when Sydal began to pair with “All Ego” Ethan Page prior to this year’s Bound For Glory. Swann has partnered with Willie Mack in the war, that continues with another singles contest this Friday in Newark, California. Last time they met, Page’s interference cost Swann the match. Will either Page or Mack be at ringside to help on their wrestling associates, or will be get a legit showdown between a former IMPACT X-Division Champion and WWE Cruiserweight champ?

Eddie Edwards vs. Scotty Wringer

Former IMPACT World Champion Eddie Edwards has found his heart again since his breakdown following his encounter with Sami Callihan this year, but he’s maintained that killer instinct that arose from it. On Friday, he goes one on one against BTW Heavyweight Champion Scotty Wringer in a non-title match. San Jose’s Wringer has only been wrestling since 2015, but has emerged as one of the emerging stars on the West Coast scene, with “The Jackpot” winning BTW gold at the BTW 22nd Anniversary Show in October.

oVe (Dave & Jake Crist) vs. The Freaks (Jeckles & Jinxx)

The Crist Brothers have been one of the US indie scene’s top tag teams for much of the last decade, both at Sami Callihan’s side and on their own, capturing tag team gold in multiple promotions, including IMPACT Wrestling. They take on BTW’s own unpredictable twosome in BTW Tag Team Champions, The Freaks. The Freaks are a stable throughout the Cali indie scene, that includes Jeckles, T-Lo The Insano, Jinxx, and Johnny Yen, who have competed for Vendetta Pro, Supreme Pro, and All Pro Wrestling. It’ll be the BTW Tag Team Champion duo of Jeckles and Jinxx who face oVe on Friday.

Tessa Blanchard vs. Keira Hogan

It hasn’t been announced to be for Tessa Blanchard‘s IMPACT Knockouts Championship, but that doesn’t mean Kiera Hogan won’t still be bringing the fight. Both made their IMPACT debuts earlier this year, with Tessa besting Hogan on a May episode of IMPACT earlier this year. Kiera has since joined forces with Allie – against Tessa and Su Yung – but with Allie’s recent descent into the Dark Side, it will be one on one between two the Knockouts division’s bright young stars.

Brian Cage vs. Moose

Brian Cage may have cashed in his X-Division Championship with Option C to face Johnny Impact for the World title at Homecoming, but he’s still got lots of fight left before then. And Moose is determined to get himself back in the World title conversation after his failed attempts against former World champ Austin Aries. A win over Brian Cage would do just that.

IMPACT World Heavyweight Championship: Johnny Impact (c) vs. Eli Drake

Since defeating Austin Aries for the World title, Johnny Impact has already defended his belt against Fenix and Killer Kross on television. On Friday, he puts his title on the line once again, this time against a former IMPACT World Champion in his own right, Eli Drake. Johnny has his sights set on Brian Cage at Homecoming in January, but if he’s not careful, Drake has the tools to make him a “dummy” on Friday night in California and win his second World Championship.
