Preview: OTT Contenders 6 (2/18/18)

At the last OTT Contenders show, we saw divisions emerge, as jealousy and envy caused our young contenders to split into seemingly three factions:  The Legit 100 (Curtis Murray, Scotty Davis and Michael May), More Than Hype LJ Cleary, Nathan Martin and Darren Kearney) and Uprising’s Mongrels (Gavin Fitz, Eddie Stone and Russel Dempster).  At OTT Contenders 6, will see the three groups take their first steps as teams and old alliances fall by the wayside.  On top of that, we have some exciting debuts and the furthering of Raven Creed vs Debbie Keitel as they continue to become the new Katey Harvey vs Martina.

Match 1: Terry Thatcher vs Eddie Stone

It’s time for Stone to brace himself.  He takes on an experienced grappler in Thatcher.  Stone is a member of the Mongrels and like his fellow teammates is trained by The Kings Of The North.  All this means is that Stone will show no mercy and won’t mind getting help from his team to win.

Predictions: Eddie Stone to win

Match 2: Club Tropicana (Captain Sexsea & Aidan Epix) vs Polo Promotions ( Jackie Polo & Mark Coffey)

One of the UK’s premier tag teams comes to OTT.  They are making their Dublin debut having previously wrestled the Kings Of The North in Belfast.  Poor Club Tropicana are in for another rough night.  They barely survived the KOTN,  they barely survived Fabulous Nicky and Session Moth Martina and now they have to face Polo Promotions.  When it comes time to go they can go, but this will be the funniest match on the card.  Not much needs to be said of Polo Promotions, they have so much pedigree and winning experience that it’s hard to see the 4x ICW Tag Team Champions lose this one.

Predictions: Polo Promotions to win

Match 3: Sons Of Ulaid & Raven Creed vs Debbie Keitel & Angel Cruzers (Angel Cruz & B.Cool)

Photo: OTT

The creepy Sons of Ulaid announced their intention to aid Creed earlier in the week.  Their bizarre promo fits right in with Creed’s image and is reminiscent of Therapy from Celtic Championship Wrestling.  Keitel has been the main rival of Creed in OTT and CCW and these two have clashed all over the country in great matches.  Her teammates are at odds with each other which could cost them.  Cruz and Cool are at each other’s throats over the finish to the Gender Neutral title match at Homecoming.  The X-factor of the Sons, mixed with the Cruzers being at odds, hands the win to Creed and Co.

Predictions: Raven Creed & The Sons Of Ulaid to win

Match 4: Team Whitewolf (Adam Chase & A Kid vs Legit 100 (Scotty Davis& Curtis Murray)

Photo: OTT

A Kid debuted in OTT at Contenders 5 and he brings along his partner Chase for Contenders 6.  The duo has been impressive throughout the UK and Ireland, even appearing on PROGRESS Chapter 62 in a dark match.  Davis and Murray are considered the future of Irish wrestling and there is no wonder why.  The two are extremely good in the ring and this team should be able to emphasize the strengths of each man.  This match will definitely steal the show, as all four competitors are good in the ring and they will all be out to impress.

Predictions: Legit 100 to win

Match 5:  Joe Coffey vs Michael May

Photo: OTT

A rematch from the very impressive match between the two from Contenders 4.  The match was so good Jonathan Gresham tweeted out his approval.  If this match is anything like the first these two will hit each other hard, they will take each other to suplex city and the crowd will be left in awe.  A highly anticipated rematch of the best match to ever take place on a Contenders show between one of Europe’s best Coffey and rising Irish star Michael May.

Predictions: Michael May to win

Match 6: Kings Of The North (Damian Corvin, Bonesaw & Dunkan Disorderly) vs More Than Hype (LJ Cleary, Nathan Martin & Darren Kearney)

Photo: OTT

The Kings are coming off the back of losing their tag team titles to The Rapture.  M.T.H are teaming for the first time.  If the young lads don’t gel immediately, they will be on the back foot against the experienced Kings.  Despite that, there is potential in the young team.  Cleary has always been one of the most impressive Contenders and is PWU Tag Team Champion with Martin as New School, Martin and Kearney team together regularly in Fight Factory Pro Wrestling and teamed with each other at Contenders previously.  The Kings have proved practically unbeatable in OTT and M.T.H face an uphill battle against the pissed off team.  Don’t count out the young guys here as all three are great and full of heart…let’s just hope the Kings don’t rip them out.

Predictions: Kings Of The North

Match 7: Kip Sabian vs Jordan Devlin

Photo: OTT

Suuuuuperbad Sabian makes his OTT debut against the hero of Irish Wrestling, Jordan Devlin.  Sabian is a guy who used the exposure of Lucha Forever better than anyone else.  His performances in LF gained him a good reputation in the UK and he became an in-demand attraction.  He was trained by Paige’s family so he can go in the ring.  But where he shines is his charisma, his look, and his great character.  He also wrote his own review on Cagematch.net because he’s a legend (he gave himself a 10 out of 10).  A beloved hero in Devlin against a great heel character like Sabian is a recipe for a great match and these two will deliver in spades.  In the end, Sabian is another import for Devlin to slay.

Predictions: Jordan Devlin
