On tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling, Laurel Van Ness defeated Rosemary to become the new Impact Knockouts Champion. This is Laurel Van Ness’ first reign as Knockouts Champion.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Laurel Van Ness and her title in the coming weeks, as it was reported earlier this month that Chelsea Green, the indie wrestler who performs Laurel Van Ness on Impact, apparently requested her release from the company shortly after the Ottawa tapings where she won the title last month.

On the undercard of tonight’s show, Allie won a #1 Contenders match against former Knockouts Champion Sienna and will face Laurel Van Ness, which could end up in becoming Allie’s second Knockouts title reign should Van Ness get granted her release. Allie as champ could lead to a return heel turn for her Demon Bunny ally Rosemary, with the two feuding over the title. Allie and Rosemary are no strangers to each other. Outside of Impact Wrestling, they had a year long feud in their home country with Smash Wrestling, which became the subject of one of Smash’s best selling DVD collections, Rosemary vs. Allie: Demon vs. The Slayer
Meanwhile, friends in the industry congratulated Van Ness on her win, including her trainer, Lance Storm, and boyfriend, WWE Superstar Zack Ryder.
