Preview: OTT Vendetta (11-4-2017)

After an entertaining show last time out, Ireland’s Over the Top Wrestling (OTT) are back at the Tivoli this Saturday for the last time this year and it is set to be a big one as they look to build steam for Being The Elite in December.  That doesnt mean they are taking their foot off the pedal here with OTT Vendetta, with two amazing matches announced and a card that has all the potential to be great

Match 1: Fabulous Nicky vs El Ligero vs Chris Brookes

Another show another multi man featuring El Ligero and strangely enough OTT having Brookes in for openers whilst he main events almost every other company in the UK.  This will still be a great match with Nicky providing someone for the OTT crowd to get behind as he continues to get featured more in OTT.  As usual I will go for the local talent.

Predictions: Fabulous Nicky to win

Match 2: Charlie Sterling & Zack Gibson vs Nathan Martin & Curtis Murray

The heel brits continue to get mega heat in OTT and they provide great experienced opponents for the two young talents, Martin and Murray were very impressive in their debut last month and look set to become a permanent fixture on OTT main shows.  With Sterling and Gibson more than likely next in kine for a title shot the win here goes to them in what will be a great match.

Predictions: Charlie Sterling & Zack Gibson to win

Match 3: Kings Of The North (Dunkan Disorderly & Bonesaw & Damian Corvin) vs “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela & Angel Cruzers (Angel Cruz & B. Cool)

The kings are back as a trio in what was originally a handicap match against the Angel Cruzers, they have since announced that this match will now be a hardcore match with Joey Janela making his OTT debut to team with the Cruzers.  Janela has had a breakout year this year and has a reputation as one of the best hardcore wrestlers on the independent scene this match will be utter chaos with Cruz proving to be a maniac this year and the KOTN having perfected the brawling 6-man we have seen so much of this year on the UK scene.  I have to go with the team heading for a title defence to go over here

Predictions: Kings Of The North to win

Match 4: Session Moth Martina vs Lana Austin

Martina continues her quest to take on the worlds best as she welcomes Lana Austin to the Tivoli.  There is a lot of buzz around Austin and it will be interesting to see how she performs on a bigger stage here having won multiple women’s titles around the UK this year.  If Austin is here to stay i can see her getting the win here but if not then its Martina all the way.

Predictions: Session Moth Martina to win

Match 5: Travis Banks vs Mark Haskins

Two of the best pure wrestlers in the UK and a battle involving the current and a former PROGRESS world champion this will easily be one of the best matches on the card as Banks looks  to try get a win and possibly insert himself into the main event scene but this should be a hard fought win for the NLW champion on the road to his huge defence next month at the National Stadium

Predictions: Mark Haskins to win

Match 6: Jordan Devlin vs Matt Riddle (No.1 Contenders match)

Photo: OTT

The import killer Jordan Devlin is the hottest entity in Ireland the man has been OTT’s MVP for the year and he takes on one of the best wrestlers anywhere in the world and a man who just had the best match in OTT history against Mike Bailey at last show in the “BRO” Matt Riddle.  This match is for the right to main event in the National Stadium against Mark Haskins for the NLW Heavyweight Championship and is one of the biggest and best matches OTT could possibly put on.  Very hard to choose a winner but im going to have to give this one to the import killer as we get closer and closer to Devlins coronation as OTT’s biggest star

If the top two matches arent enough to get you excited about this card I dont know what will.  Scotty Davis will also take on a mystery opponent as he tries to earn a match at Being The Elite and this looks like continuing OTT’s streak of fantastic shows as they look to end the biggest year in Irish Wrestling history on a bang.
