PROGRESS Wrestling to Have a Show in Wembley Arena in 2018

PROGRESS Wrestling Wembley Arena

PROGRESS Wrestling the fastest rising promotion in the United Kingdom, made a giant announcement regarding 2018.

The company is now at its biggest event in 2017, at the Alexandra Palace, where more than 2,000 people have come to see CCK vs. British Strong Style, Matt Riddle defending his ATLAS Championship of PROGRESS against 2 more monsters – WALTER & Timothy Thatcher– and see the culmination of the feud between Travis Banks and the PROGRESS and WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne.

The company, through a “Live” for its social networks, announced that by September 30, 2018, PROGRESS Wrestling will have its biggest event in history at the SSE Wembley Arena in London. This should not be confused with Wembley Stadium, which seats more than 60,000 people and the famous WWE Summerslam with British Bulldog vs. Bret Hart for the WWE Intercontinental Championship took place.

The Wembley Arena fills less, but is still big numbers for a company as young as PROGRESS Wrestling, which just started just yesterday. The SSE Wembley Arena seats at least 12,500 people, making it London’s second largest indoor arena. For PROGRESS Wrestling, the show will be considering the largest event by an indie company in the United Kingdom.

If PROGRESS Wrestling fulfills its objective and to fills that arena, this would put the promotion to take the prize for the best company in the United Kingdom, given that, the other company that throws such a big event is in Scotland- Insane Championship Wrestling or ICW and that the maximum that they have seated is between the 5,500 to 6,000 people in the SSE Hydro.
