Like Cody Rhodes has done for the past year, Scottish big man Drew Galloway left the WWE and has created a character far stronger than anything he portrayed in the WWE Universe with the last name McIntyre. Since leaving the WWE in 2014, he’s been a World Champion in Impact Wrestling, EVOLVE, ICW, and Scottish Wrestling Alliance, becoming one of the UK’s top draws in independent promotions, both at home and abroad. He’s also the current reigning World Heavyweight Champion in WCPW, the upstart promotion from WhatCulture that has proven to be a huge success thanks to it’s streaming of it’s flagship show WCPW Loaded for free on it’s YouTube channel, and the company’s roster of megastars from UK standouts like Will Ospreay, Zack Sabre Jr, Marty Scurll and Joe Hendry to international stars like Cody Rhodes, Alberto Del Rio, Kurt Angle and more.
But during tonight’s WCPW PPV, entitled Bulletproof, Drew Galloway seemingly had a moment with Bullet Club members Adam Cole and The Young Bucks, that was caught on tape by fans and immediately went viral on Twitter. During an in-ring segment, the three Bullet Club members came in to “too sweet” Drew Galloway.

As if that didn’t fuel the immediate “Did he just join the Bullet Club?” Tweets, another fan caught the action on video and Drew Galloway himself re-tweeted it (including the question).

While many may wonder what the significance of someone like Drew Galloway joining the Bullet Club could mean, let’s look at the potential of what it could mean to NJPW itself.
Gang Warfare
Let’s look at some of the match-ups we saw in this PPV. Bullet Club’s Adam Cole faced Zack Sabre Jr. – a man who recently joined Suzuki-Gun after taking the Revolution Pro British Heavyweight Championship from Katsuyori Shibata on March 6 at NJPW’s 45th Anniversary Show in Tokyo. Suzuki-Gun are almost certain to be heading towards some sort of showdown in NJPW. A battle that will go beyond the Japanese borders and most likely to the United States via Ring of Honor. But what if that battleground now included Great Britain?
Zack Sabre Jr now gives Suzuki-Gun one of the UK’s top competitors in the world. But they aren’t the only faction in NJPW’s Gang Wars to have a British Superstar in their ranks. CHAOS boasts the services of one of the UK’s most exciting talents, Will Ospreay. At tonight’s event, Will Ospreay and Scott Wainwright – the Swords of Essex – battled the Young Bucks in a Triple Threat for the WCPW World Tag Team titles. Ospreay and the Bucks are no stranger to combat – CHAOS and the Bullet Club have had numerous encounters in Japan. And clearly, Ospreay is not threatened by the legacy of the Bucks, especially now that they’ve lost all their bling.

Which comes to Drew Galloway. Adding Drew Galloway would give the Bullet Club their own British wrestler to lead the charge should NJPW start putting on shows in the United Kingdom, be it with Rev Pro, Progress, ICW and even WCPW itself. While other members can be sent to as soldiers, it always helps with local sales by having homegrown stars in the main event – similar to how the Bullet Club uses more of it’s ROH members in the United States. With CHAOS, Suzuki-Gun – and perhaps now the Bullet Club – having their own UK megastar in their ranks, the British shores just may have opened up for a full on Japanese invasion.
