Four-year NFL veteran defensive lineman Tyeler Davison agreed to a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons. As of this posting, the exact financial value of this contract is not known to the public. Davison, a Fresno State product, spent the entirety of his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints.

Tyeler Davison Agrees to One-Year Contract With Atlanta Falcons

Davison spent the 2018 season starting along the defensive line for the NFC South champion New Orleans Saints. Appearing in 14 games, Davison finished his season with two sacks, 23 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and three quarterback hits. His best game came in Week 16 when he recorded one sack, two tackles, and one tackle-for-loss.

Tyeler Davison initially entered the league as a fifth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Selected by the New Orleans Saints, Davison appeared in all 16 games as a rookie, recording five starts. During his time on the field, Davison recorded 1.5 sacks, 18 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, and five quarterback hits.

Davison earned a larger role on the 2016 Saints, starting in all 15 games in which he appeared. During his first season as a starter, Davison recorded 23 tackles and one quarterback hit. He had a career year in 2017, appearing in all 16 games for the first time in his career. During that season, Davison recorded a career-high in tackles (31) while recorded three tackles-for-loss and two quarterback hits.

Throughout the course of his career, Davison has recorded 3.5 sacks, 95 tackles, nine tackles-for-loss, and 11 quarterback hits. Davison joins a line which also featured Grady Jarrett, Vic Beasley, and recent signee Adrian Clayborn. The 2018 Falcons finished their season with the 31st-ranked defense in terms of DVOA. Their defensive line, in particular, struggled, as Football Outsiders ranked the unit as the second-worst unit against the run and the seventh-worst unit against the pass.
